Optimum PhytoCalm Midnight Moisture Mask…

Hey there lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa

So a few weeks ago I did a bit of shopping at my local Superdrug and came across the Optimum PhytoCalm products. There was a cleansing balm which I have written a review for HERE. There was also an oil which I have yet to get and then there was this one, a mask. All three products are meant for night time use.

This is the Optimum PhytoCalm Midnight Moisture Mask. This mask contains Four O’clock Flower which helps the skin in it’s night time recovery, leading to a brighter and smoother complexion the following morning. It smells incredible too! After cleansing, I applied the mask thickly to my skin. It’s a lovely thick cooling creamy consistency as it’s applied. This is one mask that I do apply using my fingers, others I usually use a brush. And I do apply a thin-ish layer under my eyes too. Once on the skin and left overnight to do its work, I can say I was not sticking to the pillow at all. The next morning when I looked in the mirror my skin looked glowing, I had a flush of rosy cheeks, it looked smooth and felt very soft and hydrated. Since giving up smoking 2 years ago I was left with those horrid verticle lines above my top lip. They now appear to be softened somewhat. (Oh how I wish they were never there!) This mask will always be a repurchase for me I honestly do love it and rate it, highly. My only negative is that it doesn’t come in a bigger size, this is only 15ml. You can check this beauty out HERE.

Do you have Instagram? I do, and I’d love it if you came over and gave me a follow. You can find me HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Superdrug Optimum PhytoCalm Bedtime Cleansing Balm…{Not an Ad, gifted. I purchased this myself}

Hello my lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I have been using this cleansing balm for about 6 weeks now and I actually got very disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to share my thoughts with you. As soon as I bought it from Superdrug Online I tried it and really loved it and I decided to get another one so that I had a backup. To my dismay it was no longer available, even though it was a new product. I have since found out that it is still available, but it appears to be in store only right now.

As I said at the start I really love the Optimum PhytoCalm Bedtime Cleansing Balm. It’s a Superdrug own brand which I am a huge fan of.

Although this says Bedtime Cleansing Balm, I have been using it in the morning as well as at night. For night time, if I have been wearing makeup I remove it first with another Superdrug product, a miscellar water. I then massage all over my face including eyes with the balm cleanser. It’s not a massively hard balm it’s easy to get from the pot to use and it does move easily over the skin and melts almost oil like into my face. It doesn’t sting or irritate my eyes, and it takes away the last traces of makeup that the miscellar water has left behind when I remove it with a wet face cloth, or muslin cloth. It does smell amazing too, very sweet and floral, which would be from the Four O’clock Flower which is within the product. This beautiful fragrant plant is often used in skincare for sensitive skin due to it’s calming, hydrating and strengthening properties. The Optimum PhytoCalm Bedtime Cleansing Balm will always be a repurchase for me now for as long as it’s available, it’s just lovely and leaves my skin feeling clean, soft and smooth. There’s an overnight mask available which I shall share with you soon.

The Superdrug Optimum range of skincare is cruelty free and suitable for vegans. See more products HERE

A Small Superdrug Haul……

Hello my lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I had these gorgeous products sitting in my basket on the Superdrug website for some time now, so I thought it was about time to actually click “pay” and purchase them. In the interest of transparency I have to tell you that nothing in this beauty booty is pr gifted, I paid for it all myself. I have previously worked with Superdrug and had products from all these ranges gifted to me in the past, that’s why I buy them myself now to be honest, I know they work for me. Although I’ve never had pr from Rimmel, ever. I shall just have to dream about that, loving Rimmel nail care and polishes like I do!

For me, anything that has the Superdrug name on it works for me. Be it their varying ranges of skincare or their own range of makeup that is B. by Superdrug. The Optimum range of skincare is one of my favourites, and that range in particular caters for anyones skincare needs, whatever age. The newest range from Optimum is the night-time or bed time range of products. I treated myself to the Cleansing Balm and the Moisture Mask. I also got myself two products from the Optimum PhytoSurvive range, the Multi Protecting Serum and the Multi Protecting Day Cream.

Another Superdrug own brand of skincare is B. Skincare. I chose two cleansing products. A mahoosive bottle of Micellar Water, and a simply delicious bottle of the Micellar Oil, which is an oil to milk cleanser. From B. Makeup I picked up the Flawless Duo Concealer. All Superdrug own brand products are Vegan friendly.

Lastly I treated myself to two Rimmel 60 second super shine nail polishes, in the shades Black Cherries and Berries and Cream.

Well that’s just a few of the gorgeous products that I picked up from Superdrug a while back, and I’ve since added a few more to my basket, like Flower Beauty’s foundation and concealer ( a lovely looking makeup range by Drew Barrymore, the actress) I can’t wait to get my hands on those in a few weeks.

Thank you for stopping by today, I’ll come back soon with reviews of some of the products in my haul.

Optimum PhytoEnergise Glycolic Cleansing Pads…

Hello my lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Firstly, if you have been here before, what do you think of my new blog header? I think it looks a bit more “grown up” Obviously thanks go to my other half Mark for making the change for me. So onto the business in hand and the reason why you are here (hopefully)

Regular readers will know my passion and love for Superdrug own brand products, especially B. Skincare and B. Makeup which I’ve featured quite heavily recently, the other range I have a penchant for is the Optimum skincare range. There are a few Optimum posts if you’d care to read, HERE.

Over the next few posts I shall be sharing the Optimum PhytoEnergise range, Superdrug’s latest skincare range set to rival some of the more expensive high-end skincare, but at a fraction of the price,  making great skincare more accessible to those of us on a smaller budget.

So Optimum PhytoEnergise then is a range of skincare products that is formulated using something called Early Boost, an active ingredient containing the amino acid taurine, which is said to provide the skin with a kick of energy. Optimum have given us a “purse friendly” (says Superdrug) alternative to the more high-end more expensive taurine based skincare. Early Boost is well-known for its anti-inflammation and energising properties and it’s extracted from Jania Rubens seaweed, said to help skin that has become dull and tired looking. There are three vegan friendly Optimum PhytoEnergise products in the range, Glycolic Cleansing Pads, Refreshing Eye Gel and 3 in 1 Moisture Balm, Primer and Mask. I shall be bringing all them to you, I’m starting today with the Glycolic Cleansing Pads.

I have always wanted to get my hands on a Glycolic cleansing pad, and I did actually purchase a pot of another Superdrug own brand pads a couple of weeks ago, and I shall share them with you another time. This range though is another Superdrug brand, Optimum and these are the Glycolic Cleansing Pads. They are a deep cleansing pad which will help to minimise the look of large pores and helps in the retexturising the skin’s surface, leaving it looking brighter and less grey and dull looking. I have been using these pads for over a month now. I started by using them every morning but I was literally over exfoliating my skin, I was suffering from breakouts and sore dry patches around my mouth. I stopped using them for a week then began again, but I now just use them twice a week. I mainly use them in the mornings after first cleansing my face with my usual cleanser. I then sweep a pad over my face avoiding the eye area and lips. These really have given my skin a glow, my cheeks are looking quite rosy right now! I will never get rid of my enlarged pores I don’t think, they have occurred due to ageing to be honest. But my skin is so smooth to the touch and certainly a lot more fresh looking now. These will most definitely be in my morning skincare routine now, and if you feel you would like to give them a go they are currently better than half price in Superdrug HERE. Be aware that when using the Glycolic Cleansing pads they may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Apply an SPF after use.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Optimum PhytoFreeze Instant Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty my lovelies..

I’ve the second Optimum PhytoFreeze product to share with you today, it’s the eye cream and I have to say it’s my favourite of the two that I was sent to review.

optimumphytofreezeeyecream

An eye cream that offers an “instant anti-wrinkle effect, helping to tighten the skin and give an instant lifting effect” It contains a unique active ingredient called Vin-upLift, and based on Swiss Ice Wine which has been produced from naturally frozen grapes, it’s very rich in certain sugars and polysaccharides which is meant to give instant lift and moisture to the skin. The grapes are harvested from Swiss vineyards and are picked by hand after the first fall of snow in Winter when the grapes have been frozen on the vine. Other ingredients added into the eye cream are Olive Oil which helps protect the skin from premature aging and also nourishes the skin around the eye area. Vitamin E is in there too, to help protect the skin from environmental damage.

I’m a huge eye cream fan, always on the lookout for something to keep the eye area smooth and wrinkle free. To be honest at nearly 57 years old I really don’t have to worry about many wrinkles. I don’t know if that’s down to good genes or great skincare, maybe a bit of both. I love the delivery system on the Optimum PhytoFreeze Anti Wrinkle eye cream, it’s a very cooling metal applicator which you may use to apply the cream and smooth over the eye area. I applied eye cream after cleansing and moisturising which is the way I like to use all my eye products. I applied to my under eye area using the metal applicator at first just to get the soothing cooling effect it gives me, I then patted the excess cream using my ring finger  outwards towards my temple. I also applied in an upwards direction to my brow bone, hoping to get “a lift” from the slight droop I have which causes “hooded eyelids” The eye cream applies beautifully when patted into the skin, not so much when being smoothed over as it tends to roll off in tiny clumps. After a while I noticed that my “hoods” did appear slightly lifted though, I could see more of my eyelids when looking straight into the mirror. Applying foundation and concealer over the top of the eye cream is best left until it has sunk into the skin for 10 minutes or so, as again it rolls off, and I also think it’s best to blend foundation and concealer using a brush.

I have enjoyed using this eye cream for its richness and hydration it gives my under eyes, and how bright, refreshed and smooth they look too. Right now at Superdrug there is a 2 for £12 on selected Optimum PhytoFreeze also Better than 1/2 price on selected Optimum and Free Versace Fragrance when you buy 2 selected skin products. You can find these fantastic offers HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today my lovelies, see you again soon..
