The Skincare Products I’m using at 63 Years Old, Cleansers.

Hey there lovely people, Welcome to my blog Elegant Ageless Beauty. It’s been a while since my last post so I thought that I would start back with a basic one, one that starts at the beginning “a very good place to start” like the song says. So let us start with Cleansing.

wp-1696248765986

I have three cleansers on the go right now, I do like a pick-and-mix haha, and I have only just started to use the oil cleanser from Simple and wow it is rather wonderful!

The Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil really is hydrating, it is perfect for my mature dry skin. It removes my makeup, including mascara beautifully. I massage the oil all across my skin, including my eyes, and then I use a wet muslin cloth or face cloth to remove it. Afterwards, my skin doesn’t feel dry and tight. It just feels lovely and clean, and soft too, with no oily film left behind. There is no perfume, colour or dyes within this cleansing oil, it contains 100% Grapeseed oil, as well as vitamins A and E. Dermatologically tested and approved. Ophthalmologically tested. Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic.  The bottle is made from recycled plastic, which is why it looks greyish in colour. The Hydrating Cleansing Oil is PETA-certified cruelty-free and vegan, and most certainly does not test on animals,  and this is globally I might add. Quite simply, kind to skin, kind to animals and kind to our beautiful planet. I purchased it from Superdrug HERE. You can also get it at Boots HERE

Next up is one of my favourite products that I purchase regularly. This is a Superdrug own-brand product, it’s the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser. So thick and creamy and quite delicious. Cocoa butter with lots of Vitamin A, B and E in the ingredients. You just simply massage over the face for a couple of minutes then remove with the muslin cloth that comes with the cream cleanser. I love how this gives my face a micro-exfoliation as I remove it, and my skin feels soft and hydrated afterwards and looks glowing. I can get a deep cleanse with it too, removing all makeup. I don’t tend to take it over my eyes though, I would prefer to use a separate eye makeup remover. get the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser from Superdrug on your local High Street or online HERE.

My third cleanser is one by Garnier. from the Skin Active range, it’s the Rose Soothing Cleansing Milk, enriched with rose water and suitable for sensitive and dry skin. It’s called “milk” but it’s thicker, more like a lotion to me. It’s enriched with Damask rose flower water, and there are no parabens. No silicones. No artificial colourants in this cleansing milk. Rose water is known for its soothing properties, so it’s been very gentle on my skin. I use this as I do all my cleansers, I massage over the face then remove it with a wet face cloth/muslin cloth and remove it that way. My skin afterwards feels very clean and fresh, and really very soft. Afterwards, I finish off with my toner, which will be featured in my next post. I purchased the Garnier Rose Soothing Cleansing Milk from Superdrug HERE.

That’s it from me for now, I hope you will come back soon to see my thoughts on which toners I use in my skincare routine for a 63-year-old.

This is a 10-pan palette with a gorgeous mix of matte and shimmer cool-toned eye shadows.  They are all buttery soft and blendable to the intensity you want. The packaging is so pretty, and it’s made of cardboard so it can go into your recycling when you have used it up. I have another MUA eyeshadow palette to share with you very soon. One of these days I may pluck up the courage and actually share an actual look with you, right now I don’t have the confidence to do that.

Well that was a bit short and sweet wasn’t it, it will get better hopefully. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading today. if you do enjoy reading my blogs I would love it if you would join me over on Instagram HERE.

MUA Makeup Academy Pro/Base Primer Oil with Gold Flakes…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa

I had been umming and ahhing about getting this product, which is by MUA Makeup Academy, one of my favourite makeup brands. I went to Superdrug a few weeks ago and decided to give it a go. This is the MUA Pro/Base Primer Oil with God Flakes.

From the moment I tried a little of this product on the back of my hand, I knew that it was definitely for me. Firstly can I just say if you have a really oily skin type I don’t think that this will be for you? Also if you like your foundation on the matte side then this product maybe not for you too. I have recently got into a dewier type of foundation for myself as I feel it is better for me now at my age. In my opinion, this lovely oil primer with the gold flakes is absolutely a must for anyone who is about my age (59) with dry skin and who loves makeup. I applied this over my light gel moisturiser at the start of my makeup application. It’s a lovely glass bottle with a pipette applicator that I did drop straight onto my skin with, rather than add the product to my hand then apply. I mainly concentrated on my cheeks hoping that the primer would blur out my enlarged pores somewhat. It didn’t, but the glow it gives my skin I love so I don’t mind the pores at all. It’s not a really oily oil and it certainly doesn’t smell like an oil either it’s really quite a pleasant smell to it. I then applied a matte foundation by another brand over the oil primer using my usual foundation brush (I chose a matte foundation to see how it worked with the oil primer) I did find that I wasn’t using as much foundation as normal, and yes the glow of the primer came through alright, it’s really quite attractive too. I love this! And no, there are no flecks of gold stuck to my face making it all glittery. My skin looks dewy, not oily and it certainly doesn’t feel oily either.

I have found my perfect primer in this and it’s a bargain at just £4.00 too! You can get it from the MUA website HERE and also from Superdrug on your local High Street, or online HERE

Thank you for stopping by today.

A Small Superdrug Haul……

Hello my lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I had these gorgeous products sitting in my basket on the Superdrug website for some time now, so I thought it was about time to actually click “pay” and purchase them. In the interest of transparency I have to tell you that nothing in this beauty booty is pr gifted, I paid for it all myself. I have previously worked with Superdrug and had products from all these ranges gifted to me in the past, that’s why I buy them myself now to be honest, I know they work for me. Although I’ve never had pr from Rimmel, ever. I shall just have to dream about that, loving Rimmel nail care and polishes like I do!

For me, anything that has the Superdrug name on it works for me. Be it their varying ranges of skincare or their own range of makeup that is B. by Superdrug. The Optimum range of skincare is one of my favourites, and that range in particular caters for anyones skincare needs, whatever age. The newest range from Optimum is the night-time or bed time range of products. I treated myself to the Cleansing Balm and the Moisture Mask. I also got myself two products from the Optimum PhytoSurvive range, the Multi Protecting Serum and the Multi Protecting Day Cream.

Another Superdrug own brand of skincare is B. Skincare. I chose two cleansing products. A mahoosive bottle of Micellar Water, and a simply delicious bottle of the Micellar Oil, which is an oil to milk cleanser. From B. Makeup I picked up the Flawless Duo Concealer. All Superdrug own brand products are Vegan friendly.

Lastly I treated myself to two Rimmel 60 second super shine nail polishes, in the shades Black Cherries and Berries and Cream.

Well that’s just a few of the gorgeous products that I picked up from Superdrug a while back, and I’ve since added a few more to my basket, like Flower Beauty’s foundation and concealer ( a lovely looking makeup range by Drew Barrymore, the actress) I can’t wait to get my hands on those in a few weeks.

Thank you for stopping by today, I’ll come back soon with reviews of some of the products in my haul.

[AD-gifted] We Love! By Superdrug. Cleanser, Body Scrub and Body Butter

Hello and welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

Regular readers of my blog will know I love bringing natural beauty products to share here, and before Christmas I was sent some lovely products to try, from Superdrug.

This a Superdrug own brand from the WE LOVE range of all natural products. I have tried some face masks from the range which I reviewed on EAB, I’ll leave links at the end of this post if you’d like to take a look.

One of the things I love about this range of products is that the packaging is all recyclable. Once empty just give the pots a wash and pop them into your recycling bin! I saw a review where someone said that the packaging is colourless and boring. It’s not the prettiest, but it is environmentally friendly. The products are also suitable for vegetarian and vegans.

The We Love Cleansers Coconut Cleanser is gorgeous, It smells amazing! Containing coconut oil and shea butter this is a super creamy cleanser that I do prefer to use in my morning routine. The smell of the coconut just wakes up the sluggish morning senses. It literally just melts into the skin, you don’t need a lot of product, and it then wipes away easily with a face cloth. I did find however that it’s not great at makeup removal at the end of the day. You can check out the We Love Cleansers coconut cleanser HERE.

The We Love Body Scrubs pink grapefruit jelly scrub is another big hit for me. I have been using body scrubs a bit more recently and the fruitier the better! This smells just like a pink grapefruit, it is really beautiful. With Grapefruit oil extract in there and rice germ powder for the scrubby bit. It has castor oil for moisturisation. It certainly isn’t a scratchy body scrub it’s really comfortable to use, and leaves the skin soft and glowing and smelling gorgeous! Check out the pink grapefruit jelly scrub HERE.

After the bath or shower using the jelly scrub, how about a body butter that smells like chocolate? The We Love Moisturisers Cocoa body butter is just that. It looks like a delicious milk chocolate creamy pudding and it smells like one too! It’s not quite thick enough to be called a body butter in my opinion, but even so it’s very moisturising on my skin, it’s not sticky and sinks in just lovely. It contains shea butter and cacao butter for  lovely velvety feeling skin. I suffer from very dry skin on my right shin where I have a scar, the cocoa body butter smoothed and hydrated it for me. I have used it after shaving my legs and it did tingle a little afterwards, but that soon wore off. If you love chocolate you are going to love this! Check it out HERE.

Right now in Superdrug the offer is Buy 1 get 2nd half price on selected Superdrug brand skincare.

My reviews of We Love Facemasks are HERE.
