Big Hair Don’t Care. Styling My Hair with Style Freedom..

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa..

Now that all the awful snow has gone from my part of the UK, and the sun is shining although it’s still very cold, I’m getting into Spring mode, and you will start to see that on my blog. Today I thought that I’d begin with sharing with you some hair styling products. I’ve just been washing my hair and then leaving it to dry naturally during the winter. But now with Springtime almost upon us I feel like I want to make more of an effort with my hair.

I’m a fan of big hair, and I really don’t care! I’ve always hated the sleek and straight hairstyle on myself, I have always preferred lots of root lift and scrunching and drying my hair upside down, and thanks to these products by Knight & Wilson I can get my big hair with not much effort.

These three awesome products are from the Knight & Wilson Style Freedom range of products, available at Superdrug. There is also the Colour Freedom range and also the PurePlex range, and I shall be bringing you a product from each of those ranges too, so keep a lookout for them coming soon. Firstly let me share with you the absolutely fabulous Style Freedom Super Root Volumiser. This is a mousse, and I’ve not used mousse in my hair for ages because I found it made my hair feel sticky and dull looking. This mousse however is gorgeous! After washing and towel drying my hair and a comb through to de-tangle I lifted sections of my hair where I need most root lift and sprayed directly from the can onto my hair. It has a thin nozzle and is so easy to direct the product where you need too. I want more volume on my crown and so that’s where I applied most of the product. I combed my hair through again to distribute the mousse, which actually smells gorgeous by the way, then “activated” the root volumiser by using my hairdryer, lifting my hair as it dried with my brush, and I dried my hair upside down too. This Super Root Volumiser is SUPER! It’s giving super volume that I love and where my hair on the crown of my head was so flat, it’s now more voluminous and lifted.

This next hair styling product is Sexy Hair Potion by Style Freedom. It’s a “big volume creation spray” and I have been using it as a blow drying spray, drying my hair thoroughly and then using my tongs or my Yogi styling brush to put in some curls and waves. Sexy Hair Potion can also be used as a setting spray for rollers and then left to dry. I’ve used styling sprays similar to this one before but they have left my hair so dry and crispy, and after a couple of days my roots are quite oily. When I first sprayed this onto my hair I noticed the gorgeous citrus fragrance of it, just lovely! As I’m drying my hair I notice the fragrance too. I also notice that my hair seemed to be drying quicker? It’s a great help for when I use my tongs or my heated brush to add curl to my hair. It’s helped my hair curl better and because my hair is so thick and heavy, Sexy Hair Potion helped me keep my style for longer without it dropping out, even after it got snowed on! And no oily roots either…

Lastly to keep all the hair in place for longer I used the Style Capture from Style Freedom. This style setting spray is fab u lous! It’s an extreme hold hair spray that’s fast drying. Once you style your hair simply hold the can at arm’s length and spray over the hair. I can usually go a bit cray cray with hair spray, but you really do not need a lot of this one. If you do find you want more hold, just spray your hair again. My hair didn’t feel like I was wearing a helmet when using this hair spray, but it still kept my hair looking good and kept all the fly-away under control. At the end of the day it brushed out so easily too. One of the ways I like to use a hairspray, especially first thing in the morning is to spritz my hairbrush with the hairspray and then brush through my hair, it helps to tame any fly aways and neatens everything.

The fabulous Style Freedom hair products by Knight and Wilson are going to be regular additions to my Superdrug shopping basket, have a look for yourself HERE.

I have a hair colour to use from Knight and Wilson it’s from the Colour Freedom range. I’ve got the shade Metallic Glory, Rose Gold. I won’t lie I’m rather nervous at doing it, but I believe we should all do something that’s out of our comfort zone, eh? I hope you will come back to see the results.

Lots of love, Teresa
