Lashings of Essence!

Hey there lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I am always on a quest to find my lashes! I used to have long thick eyelashes when I was younger, now I’m nearing 60 (next month) they have become sparse and so bloody straight. I can cope with them being sparse alright, but I hate that they have lost their oomph and curl, I want them to open up my eyes again. My eyes have become hooded over the years too which makes my lashes look even more non-existent. I did buy an eyelash serum to use at night to help regrowth, but I have always forgotten to use it in my nighttime routine. I’ll get back to using it (it’s a No7 one) and write a review, maybe that will spur me on to get the stuff on my lashes. But it is something you have to wait a while to see results of, and I’m not the most patient of women. I’d have to wait at least 3 months. If you think this is something you would like to see from me, leave me a comment.

Anyhoo, to give me a bit of confidence back, and some eyelashes I purchased a lash primer and mascara from the brand Essence.

I bought Lashes of the Day super volume mascara and Volume Booster lash primer. Let me start at the first base with the eyelash primer. This is infused with acai oil and mango butter to nourish the lashes, it’s white in colour when applied with the mascara wand applicator. You obviously apply it to your eyelashes before mascara let it dry for a few moments, then apply your mascara. It doesn’t dry down hard and crispy, my lashes still felt really soft. I had to have a sniff of the product, and to me, it smelt fruity. The brush is great at the lash separation, and got right to the really tiny lashes on the inside of my eyes, and also my bottom ones too. This is really great stuff! I have used it for all my various mascara brands and each time it has given me great eyelashes, and I feel more confident with the way my makeup looks. I tried to take some photos of my eyes to pop on here myself, but I just couldn’t do it. I will see if I can get Mark to take some for me, of me and I’ll post over on my Instagram at a later date. I purchased my Essence lash primer from Wilko in my local town, you can also get it from HERE.

The mascara I purchased to go with the lash primer is this one from Essence, Lashes of the Day Super Volume mascara. It doesn’t seem to be on the Wilko website right now so I’m not sure if it’s been discontinued or not. I tried this mascara with the primer and without, and I’m quite happy with my eyelashes without it. The brush is a great size and shape and grabs hold of all my lashes, even the tiny ones. I don’t like a mascara that’s too wet and this one isn’t, it applies brilliantly. My lashes don’t feel hard and crunchy and it doesn’t flake off during the day either. A really great mascara, in my opinion. As I said I purchased this mascara from my local Wilko store, but it doesn’t seem to be on their website so I can’t leave a link to this one.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Essence 2 in 1 Makeup and Concealer

Hello beauties, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

So a while ago I did a small shop in Wilko and purchased some products from the wonderful Essence brand. There are a couple of products that I got that have really stood out for me and one of them being the Camouflage 2 in 1 foundation and concealer.

At just £3.80 for 30ml of product it’s a bargain. It’s a squeezy tube too which I love. I’ve not used a foundation-concealer product before so I was looking forward to using this when I got it home, but it has been sitting on my dressing table waiting for the less sunny and warm weather to arrive so that I could put away the lightweight foundations and BB Creams. I actually got around to wearing this last weekend and I found it to be fantastic! I applied it using a Real Techniques Buffing Brush then used a damp sponge to press over my skin once I applied the foundation. I took the product over my eyes paying more attention to the inner corners where I’m a bit dark. For me I think that this is a medium to full coverage, and it covered all the issues I have with my skin. I get redness on my left cheek, it was covered, I get redness around my nose, it was covered, I get redness on my chin, it’s covered by this foundation, and I also don’t need to use powder to set it. If you prefer a lighter application then apply using a damp sponge rather than a brush, and that’s just my opinion of course. I also noticed after wearing for a while that it doesn’t settle into lines or cake under my eyes. It’s long-lasting and it doesn’t transfer to the collar of  my clothes or my baby Granddaughters clothes when I’m squishing her! For me, this is a fabulous face base product, one that I shall be using a lot and will be a definite re-purchase.

If you don’t have a Wilko near you, you can purchase this and all Essence products online HERE.

A Small Essence Haul from Wilko…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Mark and I just had to get into the car and get out for a while on Sunday, after we had a really rubbish week. I wanted to purchase a few Essence cosmetics goodies from Wilko online but because the rubbish week was down to a bit of online fraud on Mark’s bank account we decided to go to our nearest Wilko store instead, safer that way.

I did write myself a list of Essence products I wanted but only managed to get a few from said list, our local store didn’t have everything in, but what I did buy I was happy with. I’ll be writing reviews on EAB soon.

I’m really looking forward to trying the Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Foundation & Concealer, will I still need my concealer? We’ll see, and I will get back to you, soon  It was only £3.80. I’ve always wanted to try a lip oil, and when I saw this one by Essence I thought that I’d give it a go. I’ve no idea what a lip oil is for, does it colour, does it condition, does it hydrate? I’ll get back to you on that. The lip oil was just £2.00. I have wanted to try an Essence mascara for ages, especially one that claims to give “extreme volume and curl” my eyelashes or rather the state of them is really depressing me. I’d give my right arm to be able to go and get eyelash extensions done but until my numbers come up in the Lotto I shall keep on looking for my holy grail mascara. Could this be the one? I’ll let you know. The Essence False Lashes mascara is £2.80. I hate my lips as much as I do my eyelashes! If I could afford lip fillers I wouldn’t hesitate in getting them done! So until I do get that big Lotto cheque it’s lip plumping products for me! I picked up the Essence Volume On! lip plumping lipgloss, it’s a pretty nude peach shade, so I’ll give it a go and get back to you with my thoughts. The Essence Volume On! lip plumping lipgloss is £2.30 and finally I picked up a Nail Caring Oil it contains Apricot oil so I’m looking forward to trying that too. I’m in the middle of trialing some nail products at the moment, so I’ll let you know what the Essence product is like, soon. The Essence Nail Caring Oil is just £2.00.

I purchased my Essence products from my local Wilko stores but you can purchase online from Wilko too, HERE or from the Essence website HERE

Thank you for reading, I’ll be back soon with my thoughts on my Essence purchases.

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick….My Thoughts

You may remember that in my March favourites post which is HERE, I had a lipstick, from the budget brand Essence. I thought that I’d come back today to let you know my exact thoughts on the lipstick.

For a lipstick that only cost me a couple of pounds, I think that the packaging looks pretty classy, it’s a lovely matte black casing with the “e” logo on the top and the lipstick shade is around the middle. When you go into the casing and wind up the lipstick the “e” logo is present embossed on the lipstick itself.

I applied my lipstick on a day I was going to be out for a few hours, hoping that I wouldn’t need to re-apply. However this didn’t last all day, about 4 hours maybe. But actually it doesn’t bother me, I’m a lip licker, and lipsticks don’t tend to last too long on me anyway. I did apply it over the top of foundation primed lips without a liner ( I don’t have any lip liners, yes bad beauty blogger!) It’s lovely and moisturising, and very pigmented for a budget lipstick too. There are 12 pretty shades in the Long Lasting lipstick range on the Essence website, and I want a few more of the shades because I actually like this one very much. HERE. I purchased my Essence lipstick from  UK high street store Wilko, they are also online too HERE.

I’m hoping to be getting some more colour cosmetics posts up on Elegant Ageless Beauty very soon, but it takes money to do it, which I don’t have much of at the moment. There’s 4 grandchildren to buy Easter eggs for, then 2 of them have birthdays in the same month. It’s a good job I adore them, of course.

Thank you for stopping by..

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick….The Test..

Hey there lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa!

I have had this lipstick for a while but I’ve only just decided to wear it and give it a proper test. It’s from budget brand Essence, and it’s from their long lasting range of lipsticks. I have the shade number 26, All Time Favourite.

It’s a lovely nude shade, perfect for any time of the year. I’m going to be testing it out see how it applies how it wears, how long it actually lasts throughout the day! I’m off out for my daughters birthday, and I’ll be taking a chocolate cake I’ve made her, so there will be some eating of said cake and the drinking of coffee which will give the lipstick a good test.

So I hope you will come back later to see what I thought of the Essence Long Lasting Lipstick.
