A Tint for the Lips and Cheeks..B. Makeup

I do love a product that’s multi tasking, you know using a lipstick for cheeks as well as lips? Well look what I’ve got, it’s a product that you can use on the lips AND the cheeks! *rolls eyes* Today I thought that I would share with you what I think of the Lip and Cheek Tint from B. Makeup.

Okay so of the 6 shades available I have 3, from the left is Crimson Caress, Frivolous and Just a Kiss. The B. Makeup Lip and Cheek Tint is the perfect must have for my makeup bag, it gives the prettiest pop of colour to lips and cheeks when you don’t want to go for a full on makeup. Although it’s buildable to be more intense if you need it to be. It does have a lightweight creamy texture and it blends so easily too. The colour payoff is lovely, quite subtle, my favourite shade is the first one in the photo, Crimson Caress it’s the one that I’ve reached for more than the other two. I apply it to my cheeks with my fingers in a patting motion, which is my preferred method for all cream blush, it’s non oily and once it’s on the skin it gives me a dewy look to my cheeks. To keep it looking dewy I don’t apply any finishing powder, but it lasts on me all day.

Using the same shade on my lips, it’s just as lovely. It doesn’t feel sticky or tacky, I have used it with my finger to apply for a pretty “your lips but better” pop of subtle tint. It doesn’t give my lips much of a shine, but it’s certainly not drying either. To add more of an intense colour boost I applied the tint using my lip brush, and it looks amazing. The B. Makeup Lip and Cheek Tint is perfect for Summer time makeup, but I think I shall be using it well into the cooler Autumn days too. If you want to check them out for yourself you will find them HERE.

Flawless Silk Foundation….B. Makeup..

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I had been trying to get my hands on this foundation for ages but it had always been out of stock in my local Superdrug. I couldn’t order it online because I needed to check for the correct shade for my skin tone, now thankfully I have it and it was so worth waiting for. This is the Flawless Silk Foundation by B. Makeup. I tried it without using a primer underneath.

This non – oily silk foundation gives a light to medium coverage which is buildable and easy to blend to the coverage you want. It’s so lightweight that I couldn’t feel I was wearing a foundation, but for the pretty glow it gave my skin, to touch my skin feels silky and soft. The Flawless Silk Foundation comes in a tube, but rather than a squeezy delivery system it’s actually a pump-action one, the cap clearly says “Pump me slowly” but before you do give it a good shake first it works better that way!

To give the foundation a good try out I used 3 ways to apply it. My dampened foundation sponge (not a B. Makeup one) a brush (not a B. makeup one) and my fingers. To be honest I’ve never liked using my fingers to apply my foundation, but they are a pretty good tool to apply it with if you want more of a fuller coverage, using fingers for this one you do get a good slip of the product, it didn’t drag on my skin at all, I patted it in over the eye area so as not to pull at the delicate skin, it covered the darkness in the inner corners of my eyes. I much prefer using my two favourite methods though to apply this foundation. I used just one pump with my damp sponge and it covered what I wanted it to cover. I get a bit of redness on my left cheek and my chin, and both areas were covered nicely, using the damp sponge gives a lighter coverage that is perfect for days when I’m just at home but want my skin to look as though I’m more put together. If I need a heavier coverage I use a buffing brush and again this gorgeous product applies like a dream. After I have blended the foundation in I take whats left on the brush over my eyes, carefully. I do tend to sweat on my eyelids so this just helps me get a nice base for eyeshadow. I then apply a light dusting of setting powder down the center of my face and my skin looks flawless! What I did notice about the Flawless Silk Foundation is that it dries quickly on the skin and it doesn’t feel sticky and tacky, I just get smooth soft looking skin with a bit of a glow, which lasts me all day until I take it off.

This and ALL B. makeup and skincare is suitable for Vegans, and the foundation has an SPF 15, it’s available in 12 shades… Check out Superdrug on your High Street or find it HERE.

Love, Teresa

B. Makeup…Setting Powder.

Hello gorgeous people, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Here’s another one of B. Makeup’s amazingly gorgeous products, this one is so fabulous that it’s actually sold out on Superdrug online! This is the incredible Makeup Setting Powder! Pretty to look at too with the branding embossed into the product…

Ok so I’m in my 50’s and I rarely use powder under my eyes to set my concealer/foundation because it often sinks into and exacerbates the lines I have. But with this little beauty I can set away to my heart’s content! This such a light powder, in fact it’s so light it’s almost like air, if that’s possible. The colour maybe white but it doesn’t transfer to the skin white. You only need to use a swipe of the powder on a brush to get it doing it’s job of setting your makeup. I used mine down the center part of my face, under my eyes and across my forehead. It perfectly minimises the shine from the parts of my face that I don’t want to shine, like the center. I do find the setting powder does work better with a brush rather than a powder puff which would transfer too much product therefore you would get the white showing on the skin.

This is a perfectly lovely makeup setting powder, and it’s already in my Superdrug online basket waiting to be purchased when it comes back in stock HERE. And right now in Superdrug there is the offer of Buy 1 get 2nd half price on selected B. products.

Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation….Get Glowing into Spring!

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa!

I usually prefer my face makeup fairly matte and add some glow with a touch of highlighter on the top of my cheekbones. But I’ve decided to give an illuminating foundation a go and I treated myself to this one from Collection. This is the Illuminating Touch Foundation. To be honest, I’ve had this foundation for a few months and it’s remained unopened in my drawer. I purchased mine from Superdrug, but it does appear to be discontinued from there, however Boots do still have it in stock. I’ll leave a link at the end of my post.

A foundation such as this one is perfect for dry skin like mine, it does make an older face appear more luminous therefore giving a more youthful appearance. So why oh why have I only just started to use this pretty product? I really don’t know! BUT, better late than not at all.

The foundation comes in a gorgeous frosted glass bottle that has a sun burst motif on it, and with a pump action delivery system, which I love. I used my dampened Basic Beauty Tools foundation blending sponge to apply the foundation to my face (I’ve a review of the sponge HERE) and it blended into my skin easily and even though the formula is quite lightweight, it gave me a lovely medium coverage which is perfect for me for Spring/Summer. Once on the skin it gave me a soft dewy glow, and not an oily looking mess that I was expecting. I used it right up onto  and under my eyes, where I found that it didn’t sink in to any lines, in fact it kept the area hydrated. I did powder around my nose and chin, because I don’t like to look too shiny in those areas. The staying power of the foundation was ok, it didn’t slide off my skin at all and it didn’t go orange on me either. In all for just £5.99 it’s a super illuminating foundation. There are just 4 shades available which is unfortunate to be honest, check them out HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today..

Essence 2 in 1 Makeup and Concealer

Hello beauties, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

So a while ago I did a small shop in Wilko and purchased some products from the wonderful Essence brand. There are a couple of products that I got that have really stood out for me and one of them being the Camouflage 2 in 1 foundation and concealer.

At just £3.80 for 30ml of product it’s a bargain. It’s a squeezy tube too which I love. I’ve not used a foundation-concealer product before so I was looking forward to using this when I got it home, but it has been sitting on my dressing table waiting for the less sunny and warm weather to arrive so that I could put away the lightweight foundations and BB Creams. I actually got around to wearing this last weekend and I found it to be fantastic! I applied it using a Real Techniques Buffing Brush then used a damp sponge to press over my skin once I applied the foundation. I took the product over my eyes paying more attention to the inner corners where I’m a bit dark. For me I think that this is a medium to full coverage, and it covered all the issues I have with my skin. I get redness on my left cheek, it was covered, I get redness around my nose, it was covered, I get redness on my chin, it’s covered by this foundation, and I also don’t need to use powder to set it. If you prefer a lighter application then apply using a damp sponge rather than a brush, and that’s just my opinion of course. I also noticed after wearing for a while that it doesn’t settle into lines or cake under my eyes. It’s long-lasting and it doesn’t transfer to the collar of  my clothes or my baby Granddaughters clothes when I’m squishing her! For me, this is a fabulous face base product, one that I shall be using a lot and will be a definite re-purchase.

If you don’t have a Wilko near you, you can purchase this and all Essence products online HERE.
