March Favourites….

Hello again lovelies.

I hope you are all okay, and didn’t get too “fooled” yesterday. So, now we are in a new month and that means it’s time to share with you the products I have been loving through March. So let’s get started.

The first thing is a handbag Mark bought me for Valentines Day, I didn’t start using it until last month this is firmly in my favourites because it’s so beautiful.

IMG_9465

It’s just gorgeous! It’s by the fantastic British brand LYDC, Mark bought it from a super accessories store in our town. It’s a stunning bright coral with cream laser cutout on the front, and as you can see it’s cute little birds in a tree. I love it! If you want to check out LYDC accessories, which happens to be a favourite with a lot of British celebrities, click HERE

My next product just has to be my latest purchase from Makeup Revolution, of course.

IMG_0494

It’s the amazing FLAWLESS palette, 32 super pigmented mix of matte and shimmer eyeshadows to create any look you want, from nude/natural daytime looks through to your sexy glamourous dark smoky eye looks. Makeup Revolution have also bought out a Flawless Matte collection palette which is next on my shopping list! You can buy this awesome palette HERE

Another new product that I bought in March and just love is from MUA Makeup Academy, and I really want to get more shades.

IMG_0316 (2)

It’s the ever so pretty and moisturising Sweet Sheen Lip Balm, I bought the shade Coral Reef and it’s perfect for Spring and Summer. For a lip balm it’s really pigmented and provides gorgeous colour on the lips as well as keeping them very soft. There are 6 shades to choose from, and I rather fancy them all! Take a look at what I mean HERE

IMG_5813

These next two products are nearly always in my monthly favourites, I just can’t imagine using anything else right now. The Thea Skincare eye cream is just gorgeous and I’m so happy with the way it’s working on my eye area. I use it every day and night. It provides me with perfect moisturisation that lasts all day, and is a perfect base for makeup.

IMG_6490

Also from Thea Skincare is the beautiful Lip Creme. Again I use this day and night. It really does nourish my lips and provides plumpness without all the tingling, which I don’t like from other lip plumpers. All Thea Skincare is made from organic, natural ingredients and you can take a look HERE

That’s about it for my monthly favourites for now, I’ve a few reviews on the way so I hope you will look out for those. And to all of you who celebrate it, HAPPY EASTER!

An Early Valentines Gift…..

Hello again lovelies!

This is a bit of a different post for me as it’s a fashion one rather than beauty, just for a change. But Mark went into town on friday after work and came home with an early Valentines present for me, I was so over the moon!

IMG_9465

He bought the most beautiful handbag and purse for me from a shop called Shoe Biz in our local town, and it’s from a brand I’ve not heard of before, LYDC a British brand and who are popular with a lot of celebrities. LYDC say “LYDC handbags offer exceptional quality combined with strong design. Classic shaped bags with a modern twist underpin the collection, ensuring that the LYDC woman is on-trend and fashionable. The fusion of creative design and practicality means that the LYDC brand is now recognised worldwide.”

Just look at the gorgeousness of this handbag! It’s coral  patent  leather with laser cut out bird design with a cream background, I love it! It does have a clip on shoulder strap too and can be worn across the body. The hardware on the bag is gold ie the zip, the stud closures on the end pockets, it also has gold metal on the base of the bag so that you don’t scratch this beauty when you have to place it down anywhere. The interior of the bag is gorgeous too, with what feels like a cotton lining in grey. You have a large zip up pocket inside and also a pocket for your mobile phone or pens ect. It’s a good size handbag too and doesn’t feel heavy even after putting everything you need into it! My purse is so gorgeous too, a classic wallet style with a pretty quilted front, again the clasp and zip are lovely shiny gold. Open the press stud clasp and there is plenty of room for your cards and paper money. The zip opening on the top is deep enough to hold all your change. I really do love my new handbag and purse and I shall enjoy using it during the Spring/Summer months. I’m just going to pop in some photos of Shoe Biz, a super gorgeous shoes, handbag and accessories retailer in Cambridgeshire.

I really must pop in to this amazing shop myself soon, I’ve been before and bought a handbag and a pair of boots, but not for such a long time, time for another visit I think!

IMG_9425

IMG_9430

I love this pretty owl bag!

IMG_9426

If you don’t live in Cambridgeshire, but you like the look of my beautiful LYDC handbag and purse, you can go to their website where they have a huge variety of handbags for your delectation, just click HERE.

Well, lovelies I hope you enjoyed my try at a fashion post, I’m not sure there will be many of them as I don’t buy clothes very often, I do love accessories though so maybe if I buy bags, scarves, jewellery and such like I will post again. Thank you for reading today.

AND THE OSCAR FOR BEST DRESS GOES TO!……

Hello lovely people!

Did you watch the Oscars? Did your favourite win? For me, my favourites for best actor and actress didn’t work out, I was hoping Leonardo Di Caprio and Dame Judi Dench would get the prize there.  Best film was well deserved with “12 Years a Slave” winning that, and it’s British. Woo Hoo!

But ceremony aside lets talk gowns, and what beautiful gowns we saw, Hollywood “A” listers never disappoint us do they? Here are a few of my favourite red carpet gowns from the star-studded night.

article-2571741-1BFA19B800000578-497_634x968

Cate Blanchett, for me NEVER gets it wrong on the red carpet she is always just the epitome of elegance and beauty. Her Armani gown is stunning and with her side swept sleek hairstyle she needed no jewellery other than the drop diamond earrings. Not only did she take the Oscar for Actress in a leading role in the film “Blue Jasmin” for me she was the best dressed woman. Amazing!

article-2571620-1BF9FEFA00000578-989_232x652

Lupita Nyong’o winning the Oscar for Actress in supporting role for “12 Years a Slave” looked absolutely stunning. Her Prada gown was made for her, and she said that the colour reminded her of the sky of Nairobi, her home. It had a “Grecian” look about the style with the low-cut “V” neckline and pleating to the full skirt. The only accessories she wore were a headband and stud earrings.

article-2571723-1BFA298C00000578-273_306x758

Poor Jennifer Lawrence had that “whoops” moment again when she tripped on the red carpet. Last year the poor love fell on the steps up to the stage at last years ceremony when she collected her best actress Oscar. This year she took another tumble tripping on her glorious red fitted gown, which was a Dior Haute  Couture creation. She acessorized her gown with a long rope diamond necklace which she wore down her back, and stud earrings. A lovely young look for a beautiful young woman.

So that was my top 3 gorgeous and glamorous gowns from Oscars 2014, oh and there were some pretty damn good films to mention on the night too….

Well I have trawled through just about all the pictures on the Mail Online Oscars reports and I cannot find a dress that I thought was hideous. Have a look HERE  I couldn’t find anything to criticise, even Lady Gaga look rather splendid.

What I got for Christmas….

I hope you all had a great Christmas!

I was going to leave this until the New Year, it should have been my first post of 2014 but I just couldn’t wait to show you!

I think I have been really lucky with these gorgeous gifts my Fiance gave me for Christmas, I love every single one of them. As you can see he set a theme that is beauty related ( He knows me soooo well!)

IMG_5274

I cannot wait to start using this super Nivea Soft Skin set. It has a roll on deodorant, a body wash, hand cream, moisturiser, hand body face cream and a Lip balm. Obviously reviews will follow soon peeps!

IMG_5256

I adore this Grace Cole Strawberry and Kiwi fragranced body care set, it includes a shower gel, body lotion and a super lip gloss that has a roller ball applicator. I needed a new make up bag to take bits and pieces of make up about with me, and there is lovely strawberry coloured one included in this set. Yes it may be a bag to carry toiletries but I think it’s pretty enough to go in my handbag.

IMG_5252

I had two absolutely beautiful bath sets by Bayliss and Harding. The bottom one Sweet Mandarin and Grapefruit I have had before, and it really is delicious! The top one Ritual Retreat, I have never tried so I shall be trying this one out first.

IMG_5277

Yet more gorgeous Bayliss and Harding! These are beautiful and blingy. Two bottles of body wash each in a sequinned zipper case. Left is Mandarin and Grapefruit, right is Ritual Retreat. I got really excited when I opened these, they just looked so pretty!

IMG_5200

So that was the skin care and body care goodies, I also had some very pretty nail varnish by MUA and Fashionista.

IMG_5318

3 more Magnetic nail polishes to add to my collection. These ones look a bit more glittery than previous ones I have reviewed. Gorgeous, I hope you will agree.

IMG_5385

3 bottles of nail polish by Fashionista. A glitter in gold and another in lilac. I have wanted a black nail polish for ages and this one looks just the ticket. I haven’t tried it yet so I can’t tell you what the consistancy or coverage is like, but as soon as I have worn any of them for  a few days I will let you know what they are like.

IMG_8473

I also had a few bits of make up too, also by MUA/Fashionista. This mascara is the Maxi Big Lash Impact volume mascara from Fashionista. It looks pretty good, the brush is super but as of yet I haven’t given it a proper try out.

IMG_5407

Two of the MUA Matte lipsticks in a nude colour and also a beautiful berry shade too. I shall be doing proper reviews in a later post. Another lip product I had was an MUA lip balm. I do love their lip balms, really moisturising.

IMG_5392

Lastly in the make up gifts are two eye liner products. Black eye pencil, which is so soft and easy to smudge for a smokey eye look, and a black liquid eye liner for that perfect cat flick!

IMG_5426

IMG_5433

I was also lucky enough to have a huge bottle of my favourite Elizabeth Arden fragrance. Sunflowers, I wear it all year round, I just love it! I haven’t put a picture up, we forgot to take one (oops!)

Lastly, I had two pairs of absolutely beautiful earrings.

IMG_5453

IMG_5463

I think I have been a lucky lady this year.  I was so happy with my Christmas presents from my Fiance, I think he was equally happy with the gifts I bought him too. I gave him an electric razor and the new David Beckham fragrance called “Classic” which, ladies is rather yummy!

I hope you enjoyed your Christmas too, see you in 2014!

Happy New Year!

All About Eyes….

Hi all, Thank you for stopping by.

I found this “Tag” on You Tube, it’s by a lovely lady who has become one of favourites to watch. I enjoyed watching her tag and as I don’t do videos I thought that I would have a go at the “All About Eyes” tag, blog style! I hope you enjoy it and I tag everyone who has eyes to have a go too! 🙂

What eye cream/serum do you use? I am still currently using my Avon Anew Ultimate 7S eye system and  I am just loving this so much I never want to change! If you would like to read my full review of the product go HERE please.

IMG_4854

What is your favourite under eye concealer? I love the MUA  Cover and Conceal wand. It is just so light and creamy, doesn’t settle into fine lines and wrinkles and is great for hiding my bit of darkness that I have on my inner corner of my eyes, and it will last all day.

cover_conceal_-_natural

What is your favourite eye primer? This is the only eye primer I have tried, so I have to say MUA  Eye primer. I can’t leave you a link to check it out as it doesn’t appear to be on their online store. But I have found this a must, especially as I am getting hot flushes now and sometimes feel as though my eyes are “sweating” (???) and I don’t want my eye shadow to slide off.  It gives me the true colour of my eyeshadow and it does help  my make up stay put all day too.

IMG_3860

What is your favourite eyebrow product? The MUA Pro Brow kit is fab. I used to use a brown eyeshadow but since getting this product this is all I use now. You can see a proper review on this and the eye primer HERE

IMG_3857

What is your favourite eye shadow palette? (choose only 1) Oh this is just so unfair! Regular readers of my blog know I am a sucker for palettes. But if I have to pick just one then it has got to be the MUA Matte Palette. It is so amazing. It has everything going for it. Pigmentation, the gorgeous shades which are buildable for a more intense look. You can see my full review HERE in my MUA haul post.

IMG_4829

What is your favourite eye make up remover? For ages I have loved Garnier 2 in 1 eye and face make up remover. It’s gentle and doesn’t sting my eyes and it even removes waterproof mascara. You can also use this all over to remove your  face make up too. But I would still use my regular cleanser afterwards though, to get a deep down clean.

239975_m

What is your favourite mascara? This has to be the Fashionista Double Collection Mascara. It is what it says on the tube it’s double ended, the white side is a primer for your lashes so apply this first for thickness, then apply the black mascara for luscious lashes! It works for me. I usually apply the white primer then curl my lashes then apply the mascara.

Capture.jpg

What is your favourite eyeliner? (pencil kohl gel felt tip or liquid) I have trouble applying eyeliner, all I need is practice really. If I do have a go it is usually with gel liner like the Secret Gel eyeliner by Fashionista.

fashionista_-_gel_eyeliner_-_style_1

What is your favourite single eye shadow? I am afraid I can’t answer this one, I don’t have any singles at all. All my eye shadow are trio, quad or palettes. Sorry.

What are your favourite sunglasses? I love the sunnies I got free in a magazine during the Summer. I think they are stylish and pretty good quality for a freebie. They are also quite dark too, and I certainly don’t have to squint out in the sun like I have done wearing some sunglasses in the past. These also protect against UV rays too!

IMG_4481

Well that is the All About Eyes tag done, I hope you enjoyed it.  I did send an email to the You Tuber to ask her if I could put a link to her video in this post, but unfortunately I haven’t heard back from her, so I am unable to insert one. I would have rather had her permission. Never mind.

I do have another couple of “Tag” posts coming up, I rather enjoy them. Have a great weekend peeps!

Ta Ta!

Hi all. It’s now Monday morning, 25/11/13 and I heard back from Nisha of Sugarpuffandfluff  You Tube channel, and she has given me permission to put link to her All About Eyes tag. I hope you will check her channel out. She also has some fab tutorials to share too, especially super eye looks for us ladies who have hooded eyes.

Bye
