Trying To Get My Glow Back. 60 plus Beauty on a Budget..

Hello lovely people, Happy New Year 2023! Welcome back to my blog Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa, and I hope you are all doing okay.

My goodness, it’s rather chilly here in the UK at the moment, and I am feeling cold when I usually don’t. I tend to only pop the heating on to warm the radiators when I do get too badly cold during the day when I’m on my own, anything to save money with the cost of living crisis we (some) are facing.

I thought that for this post on my blog, I would share with you the skincare that I’m using currently, and as I’m in my early 60’s now I need products to help my skin get a bit of a glow as it can look a bit grey. I’m not bothered about wrinkles, they are a sign that I have lived and I’m lucky to be this age, it is more about skincare for giving me some glow and radiance back to my face, and at a budget affordable for me.

First up is cleansing, and I love the No7 Radiant Results Revitalising Foaming Cleanser, which unfortunately I believe is now discontinued, which is such a shame. I need to find an alternative.

Next up is the wonderful Gentle Facial Exfoliator by Cyclax. With Green Tea, Shea Butter and fine granules of Walnut shells this is a really gentle exfoliator for my dry mature skin, I use it about 3 times a week and it’s enough for me and it doesn’t dry my skin. You can purchase from Amazon UK HERE.

When I’m not using the exfoliator I will use the Lacura Healthy Glow Rose Toner. You will find Lacura products in your local Aldi supermarket. The Rose toner is so moisturising and calming with Hyaluronic acid and Aloe Vera, Rose and Elderflower, it actually smells amazing too and it’s also alcohol-free.

Now, one of the best sheet face masks I’ve used. This is the Nivea Natural Radiance 10-Minute Sheet Mask. This is the best treat for my tired-looking skin. It’s infused with Argan Oil  Shea butter, and Magnolia Bark extract. The sheet mask itself fits okay and feels soft to the touch when on the skin. I applied it and relaxed for 10 minutes and when I removed it I massaged the serum into my face. After a while, I noticed my skin looked so radiant, the best I’ve had it looking in a long time. I really do need to purchase some more of these sheet masks! By the way, they’re biodegradable too. My daughter gave me this mask for Christmas and I’m not sure where she purchased it, but you could check out Nivea’s website HERE. Oh, and yes, it came with the facial roller too.

My favourite daily moisturiser for giving me a more glowy complexion is my gorgeous Cyclax Moistura Daily moisturiser, I love this! It may be light but for my dry mature face it’s perfect and under foundation, it works perfectly for me whether I am using a matte or dewy foundation. You could pop over to Amazon UK for this HERE.

Lastly my eye cream of choice at the moment is the Boots Ingredients Caffeine Eye Cream. Caffeine is an antioxidant, so is perfect for using around the eye area, it makes the skin look, fresher more hydrated and moisturised. I tend to tap the cream into the skin gently and leave to soak in before starting any makeup. You can purchase from HERE.

Well, that’s me done for now, thank you so much for stopping by and reading today, I shall be back with more product reviews soon.

Take care,

Teresa.

Optimum PhytoEnergise Refreshing Eye Gel….

Hey my lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Well this does exactly what it says on the tube, it is hugely refreshing! Used in my morning routine, it’s an eye opener! (sorry) This is the Optimum PhytoEnergise Refreshing Eye Gel..

It’s got that Early Boost seaweed based Taurine within this clear eye gel. ( You can read about Early Boost in my post about the Optimum PhytoEnergise Glycolic Cleansing Pads HERE) Helps with tired skin that’s in need of a boost. There’s Hyaluronic Acid for helping to moisturise and add firmness to the eye area, making for a much firmer smoother looking skin. Also in there is wonderful Euphrasia Officinalis Extract also known as EyeBright, which helps to calm and soothe.

This lightweight refreshing eye gel is in a tube and has a very cooling metal rollerball tip which you use to apply the gel to the eye area, it’s really very cooling and so soothing when massaged lightly onto the skin, I love it! I usually just pat the gel in with my ring finger once I’ve applied from the tube. My under eyes are immediately hydrated and smoothed and ready for makeup, and my eyes feel more awake and refreshed. Does it help with dark circles? I can’t comment as I don’t have an issue with dark circles, I don’t have very bad deep set wrinkles even at the age I am now (58) all I can tell you is that this eye gel is so very nice and I’m very happy with what it’s doing for my under eyes with the smoothness and the hydration.

Right now in Superdrug it’s better than half price on selected Optimum products, including this eye gel HERE.

Thank you for stopping by and reading today.

Becoming “Skin Intelligent” with Juliette Armand…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa..

Don’t worry I’m not here to blind you with skin science, I’m here simply to share with you three skincare products that I’ve been sent to trial and review here on EAB.  This is a range of skincare by Juliette Armand. The company says:

“The Juliette Armand brand boasts 210 products and 40 treatments across the Elements, Skin Boosters and Sun Film ranges. Based on extensive and detailed scientific research, the brand creates innovative, non-invasive cosmetics that help clients to feel good in their own skin”

I have a serum, a moisturiser and an eye cream to share with you today. Firstly though, look at the bright orange and white packaging I feel it’s so clean-looking isn’t it! Let me tell you about the serum first.

This is the Chronos Therapy Hydra Antitox Serum by Juliette Armand.  Chronos Therapy is as the company says a “treatment that repairs marks that time may leave on the skin. The therapy prevents and repairs damage to skin over time without using injections” It’s deeply moisturising and anti-aging. It contains Matrixyl which is a peptide that stimulates collagen and helps the skin to repair, and there’s Vitamins A and E within the serum too helping to plump and hydrate the skin. It’s the pump-action delivery system that I love to see in a face product, giving the amount needed and there is no risk of contamination of the product inside. The pump is of the twist up type, which means there is no lid to keep faffing around with. When I first started to use the three products I was using 2 pumps worth of the serum after cleansing and toning. After a few days I noticed I was getting a few spots so I dropped to using just the 1 pump worth of product,  and after using for a month I haven’t been troubled by spots any more. I always apply serum by pressing it into my skin so it was the same when using this one too. It sinks beautifully into my skin, and without any stickiness, I just leave for a few minutes before applying moisturiser.

With Avocado Oil, Shea Butter and Vitamin E added to this product that Juliette Armand calls an  “Anti- Surgery System” that lifts and tightens and adds glow to the skin, to treat wrinkles by contraction of the facial muscles. I can actually feel a slight tingle on my face when I’ve applied it and not in an uncomfortable way either, it’s in fact fabulous to feel that a product is working. It’s not highly fragranced but it does smell absolutely delightful! After applying Skin Boosters Anti Wrinkle Cream I left it to do its work for a few minutes before applying my foundation, and my foundation went on beautifully. A super base for makeup, and my skin feels so hydrated at the same time too. After a month of using the combo of the Juliette Armand serum and anti wrinkle cream my skin is looking and feeling fabulous. I gave up smoking 10 months ago, and obviously cigarettes had left me with those horrid top lip wrinkles, but I am so happy to say that they are now less noticeable since using these products! I need some more, I am loving this! Anyone for eye cream? Oh here you are then!

Regular readers of my blog will probably know I love me an eye cream. AND I love this eye cream. The Juliette Armand Opsis Therapy Lift Anti – Wrinkle Eye Cream. Yes it did look frightening when I first saw the syringe, but it’s only packaging no needles at all! There’s that Matrixyl 3000 peptide within this product, that stimulates collagen, there’s also Vitamin E too. When the top of the syringe is pressed to release the product it releases enough to pop onto both eyes. I used it all around the orbital area in an upwards and outwards motion, also taking it onto my brow bone sweeping upwards as well. The “nib” of the applicator is meant to be used to massage the product onto the eye area, but to be honest I used my finger. I have been using this eye cream for just over a month now, and my eye area is looking pretty good for a 57-year-old who sleeps badly. I find that at the end of the day my under eyes are still feeling hydrated and wrinkles are so fine now. Concealer used to make my under eyes feel dry after a time, but not any longer. Some rich eye creams also can leave me with puffiness under the eyes and I’ve ended up with a bit of Milia too which was annoying, but I don’t have to worry with this beauty!

I have thoroughly enjoyed using my products from Juliette Armand, I think my favourite has got to be the eye cream. If you would like to check out the products for yourself the link is HERE.

On Trial…..

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I just thought I’d share with you some new skincare that I’m currently trialing and then review in a few weeks on my blog. I was sent moisturiser, serum and eye cream from a brand that I’ve not heard of before. Juliette Armand. I will tell you more about the company in my review post, soon.

I’ve been using it for just a week and it’s so far so good. Yes that is a syringe you see before you, but it’s not a needle don’t worry, it’s the delivery system of the eye cream, did I like it? I’ll tell you in a couple of weeks time when I come back with my review. Hope to see you then.

[AD-gifted] Ellora Beauty…… Intensive Eye Contour Serum

Hi loves, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I’ve another lovely natural skincare product from Ellora Beauty to share with you. This is the Intensive Eye Contour Serum. I love eye creams, especially those that say they are brightening like this one claims to do, but did it? Please read on….

Yet another incredibly lovely Ellora Beauty product that I’ve enjoyed trialling. At first I wasn’t so sure but the more I’ve used it the more I grew to love it. It’s a great size 15ml with a pump-action delivery system which I love, you get the correct amount of product to use, well normally anyway. I’ll explain more in just a moment. The ingredients within this eye serum are all in there to create a powerful treatment for the eye area. There’s  Swiss Apple Stem Cells, Vitamins, Mountain Tea, Damask Rose and Oat Extracts, Almond, Olive, Avocado and Borage Oils, and also an ingredient called BEAUTIFYE which I did have to research as I have never heard of it, and it’s basically  “the first active ingredient in the cosmetics industry that demonstrates a lifting action on sagging upper eyelids” says google. So there you go. The Ellora Intensive Eye Contour Serum is more like a cream in consistency and it’s white in colour, rather than a clear product.

I used the eye serum morning and night to trial it and used one full pump worth between both eyes. I used it all around the contour of each eye, and as I suffer from hooded eyelids that have occurred naturally through the aging process, I worked the serum upwards and outwards over the sagging part of my upper eyes, the brow bone area in effect. It feels so rich when applying, very cooling, very hydrating and made my eyes feel very awake (that’s a lot of very’s) After a few days and nights use I noticed that I was “breaking out” just under my eyebrows where I had place the serum to help lift the area. Not a problem, I figured that it was a little too rich for me so I just used less of the serum, after a day or so, the spots went and carried on using the serum but applied less of the product.

The Ellora Beauty Intensive Eye Contour Serum is a lovely product, I’ve enjoyed using it over the past few weeks and yes I have noticed the effectiveness of it. It does give a slight lift to my sagging eyebrow area, I can see a little more of my eyelid when looking in a mirror, but mainly it has given me intense hydration, smoothed out my lines and my eye area is looking a lot brighter and more awake. The little bit of darkness and puffiness that I have is diminished.

Sounds good doesn’t it? If you would like to give it a go yourself, you can find it HERE.
