Trying To Get My Glow Back. 60 plus Beauty on a Budget..

Hello lovely people, Happy New Year 2023! Welcome back to my blog Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa, and I hope you are all doing okay.

My goodness, it’s rather chilly here in the UK at the moment, and I am feeling cold when I usually don’t. I tend to only pop the heating on to warm the radiators when I do get too badly cold during the day when I’m on my own, anything to save money with the cost of living crisis we (some) are facing.

I thought that for this post on my blog, I would share with you the skincare that I’m using currently, and as I’m in my early 60’s now I need products to help my skin get a bit of a glow as it can look a bit grey. I’m not bothered about wrinkles, they are a sign that I have lived and I’m lucky to be this age, it is more about skincare for giving me some glow and radiance back to my face, and at a budget affordable for me.

First up is cleansing, and I love the No7 Radiant Results Revitalising Foaming Cleanser, which unfortunately I believe is now discontinued, which is such a shame. I need to find an alternative.

Next up is the wonderful Gentle Facial Exfoliator by Cyclax. With Green Tea, Shea Butter and fine granules of Walnut shells this is a really gentle exfoliator for my dry mature skin, I use it about 3 times a week and it’s enough for me and it doesn’t dry my skin. You can purchase from Amazon UK HERE.

When I’m not using the exfoliator I will use the Lacura Healthy Glow Rose Toner. You will find Lacura products in your local Aldi supermarket. The Rose toner is so moisturising and calming with Hyaluronic acid and Aloe Vera, Rose and Elderflower, it actually smells amazing too and it’s also alcohol-free.

Now, one of the best sheet face masks I’ve used. This is the Nivea Natural Radiance 10-Minute Sheet Mask. This is the best treat for my tired-looking skin. It’s infused with Argan Oil  Shea butter, and Magnolia Bark extract. The sheet mask itself fits okay and feels soft to the touch when on the skin. I applied it and relaxed for 10 minutes and when I removed it I massaged the serum into my face. After a while, I noticed my skin looked so radiant, the best I’ve had it looking in a long time. I really do need to purchase some more of these sheet masks! By the way, they’re biodegradable too. My daughter gave me this mask for Christmas and I’m not sure where she purchased it, but you could check out Nivea’s website HERE. Oh, and yes, it came with the facial roller too.

My favourite daily moisturiser for giving me a more glowy complexion is my gorgeous Cyclax Moistura Daily moisturiser, I love this! It may be light but for my dry mature face it’s perfect and under foundation, it works perfectly for me whether I am using a matte or dewy foundation. You could pop over to Amazon UK for this HERE.

Lastly my eye cream of choice at the moment is the Boots Ingredients Caffeine Eye Cream. Caffeine is an antioxidant, so is perfect for using around the eye area, it makes the skin look, fresher more hydrated and moisturised. I tend to tap the cream into the skin gently and leave to soak in before starting any makeup. You can purchase from HERE.

Well, that’s me done for now, thank you so much for stopping by and reading today, I shall be back with more product reviews soon.

Take care,

Teresa.

{AD-gifted} Cyclax Moistura. 2 in 1 Cleanser/Toner and Daily Moisturiser…

The Cyclax company was founded in 1896 by Frances Hamilton Forsyth, under the name of Mrs. Frances Hemming in London. It’s one of the worlds oldest cosmetics companies still in existence! In 1939 Cyclax started to provide beauty kits to servicewomen which included their famous ” Auxilary Red lipstick” the company was granted a Royal Warrant by 1961. During the 1970s Cyclax was bought by Lehman Brothers Inc, which lead to rebranding and new products being added to their range. Cyclax was then sold to Cooper Laboratories, before being sold on again to British American Cosmetics. It has changed hands a number of times over the years, but all the while still creating new products. In 2018 Cyclax was acquired by Three Pears International Wholesale, who are “committed to 100% UK manufacture of all Cyclax products”

The Cyclax ranges:

Cyclax Moistura is a beautifully formulated heritage anti-aging skin and body care range including eye, hand and night moisturising creams and lotions, exfoliators, cleansers, and toners. Its key ingredients include natural plant oils, vitamin complex, natural plant extracts, collagen, and a peptide complex

Cyclax Nature Pure is a formulated skin and body care range blending natural ingredients to address all skin care needs. Including night cream, facial scrubs, face and neck creams, hand and body lotions, bath and shower gels, moisturisers and exfoliators. Nature Pure’s key natural ingredients include Aloe Vera, Apricot Oil, Cocoa, Evening Primrose Oil, Green tea, Lavender and Vitamin E.

Cyclax Sun is a developing range of sun protection and sprays with UVA/UVB  protection. SPF 10,15, 20, 30, 45, 50, all day water resistant and SPF 50 baby ranges. All Cyclax Sun will offer key skin care ingredients in all products ensuring ultimate hydration is delivered to the skin.  After sun lotions, soothing gels and sprays will include Neem Oil, Cucumber, Chamomile, Shea Butter and Aloe Vera. The self-tanning range includes lotion and spray tan with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. Cyclax sun is a range under development and features a new range of fake tan aimed at a volume market, and available now.

Natural Classic is the original Henna Treatment Wax with Pure Henna. Revitalises all types of hair, especially hair that has been damaged by bleaching, perming or tinting. A new addition the Natural Classic range is dry shampoo with two elegant fragrances in a handy purse-sized 150ml spray.

I have 2 products from the Cyclax Moistura range. A range particularly good if you are like me and have dry dehydrated skin. The first of the products is the Moistura Cleanser/Toner, which is a 2 in 1 product. I have been loving using this first thing in the morning.

The lovely fresh smell just livens up the senses as I use it. I have tried two ways of using the cleanser/toner. The first way by massaging over the face and then removing with a face cloth. It works for me! The second is to pour the cleanser/toner onto a damp cotton pad and swipe over the face. It works for me too! I have used it to remove makeup, and although it struggled to remove all my eye makeup in one go, it didn’t sting my eyes to go in for a second time. But it really does leave my skin feeling fresh and cleansed without being left dry and tight. A really lovely cleanser/toner that I am enjoying using.

The second Cyclax product is a delightful moisturiser. This is the Moistura Daily Moisturiser for Normal/Dry skin.

The first thing I noticed from this cream is the subtle smell of, well to me it was rose, but checking the ingredients there is no rose in the cream. It does contain Witch Hazel so maybe that is what the fragrance is, and it’s rather lovely. It also has lanolin and Beeswax within, so it isn’t suitable for vegans. This is a lightweight cream but it certainly packs in some moisture. It’s a perfect moisturiser for this time of year if you do prefer a lighter day cream but still need the hydration too. It’s been keeping my skin nice and moisturised all day until I’m ready to do my night time routine. As for the Cyclax Daily Moisturiser under foundation, it works perfectly for me whether I am using a matte or dewy foundation.

You will find all the Cyclax products in many chemists/pharmacies, and both independent and national retailers. I’ve also seen them on the Fragrance Direct and Amazon websites. If you would like to see the complete Cyclax range you will find them HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Heaven by Deborah Mitchell Skincare…Chamomile Desensitising Hydrogel

Hello and welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

HeavenSkincare_Hydrogel

Regular readers will know I’ve been reviewing products from a most divine skincare brand, Heaven by Deborah Mitchell. The lovely lady herself sent me the most beautiful gift set at Christmas and I’ve been enjoying myself with them ever since! Just in case you missed my previous Heaven Skincare reviews I’ll leave links to them at the end of this review if you would like to check them out…

This is the Chamomile Desensitising Hydrogel a toner to be used after cleansing.  It comes in a pump type dispensary which gives you the exact amount you require. The ingredients within the product are amazing! It has organic Chamomile and Rose oils, organic Witch Hazel and Coconut and if you think I bet that smells good, you’d be right! It’s a lovely fresh fragrance, not too heavy on the Rose which can sometimes be a bit “heady” in skincare products, in my humble opinion. If your skin is dry and sensitive this is fantastic, it will help the skin to become “less thirsty” it’s great if you suffer from rosacea and acne rosacea or spots with its healing properties, it helps calm down redness. It will also help de-puff the eye area too and fine lines are minimised. This is such an amazing “multi tasking” product you can even use it as a primer before your foundation or as a treatment around the eyes for extra moisturisation.

I used this hydrogel after cleansing all over my face and around my eyes. It is alcohol free so there is absolutely no stinging, it’s very refreshing as I applied it on cotton wool over my face. Immediately afterwards my skin felt smooth and soft, pores were less noticeable which is a BIG bonus for me, and it certainly didn’t leave my skin dry and tight, it felt perfect and ready for a product that I shall be bringing you next time which is the Heaven Skincare BeeBee Cream, a beautiful tinted moisturiser. If you would like to check out the Heaven-ly Hydrogels, and there are 3 to choose from, pop over to the website HERE

The beautiful Deborah Mitchell has also made videos to show you the way with her products, over on You Tube HERE.

Superdrug Vitamin E Skincare…..

Hello loves, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I’ve got a bit of skin care to share with you today. I’ve been wanting to try a cleansing oil for a while now having been inspired by my lovely twitter chum and beauty blogger/vlogger Rougepout Beauty  I didn’t want to splash out on product that might not be for me so I had a look at what Superdrug had to offer. They didn’t let me down, I found a cleansing oil in the Vitamin E range of Superdrug’s own brand. I hadn’t tried anything from their Vitamin E range so I was killing two birds with one stone now.

IMG_8417

I picked up the Vitamin E Dual Phase Cleansing Oil and the Refreshing Toning Mist to go with it. When I bought these two products I thought that the cleansing oil would be the kind that you massage into your face add a touch of water so that it goes slightly “milky” and then you would wash away with a flannel. But this cleansing oil you don’t. More about that in a moment.

The cleansing oil, as the name suggests is a dual phase, containing a Multivitamin complex and horse-chestnut to help care for dry skin. There is also an Antioxidant protection within it to help keep out damage from the environment. It’s contained in a plastic bottle and is dispensed via a flip top cap underneath the bottle top, you have to guess how much to use as there is no “stop” on the cap. So how do you use the Dual Phase Cleansing Oil? Firstly give it a good shake to amalgamate the two liquids, then immediately pour onto a cotton pad and smooth over the face and neck. I turned the pad over applied some more cleansing oil and swept it over my face again. It took off my makeup and left me with a lovely clean face, it felt soft and hydrated. It also removed my mascara too, but I did have to give it a couple of swipes to make sure all my lashes were mascara free. The cleansing oil didn’t sting my eyes at all either, and hopefully with continued use the oil will condition my lashes a bit. You get 150ml of product for £2.99 at Superdrug.

To use with my cleansing oil I also picked up the Vitamin E Refreshing Toning Mist. This is nice! I love the spray applicator for a wonderful refreshing spritz over the face after cleansing. It’s quite powerful coming out of the bottle and if you don’t aim properly, can soak you a tad! You can also spray the toner onto a cotton pad and apply it to your face that way too. This is Multivitamin packed! Vitamin E, A, B, and F are within this lovely toner, and  along with horse-chestnut helps to look after my dry skin. I’ve been using the toner morning and night, and it’s not at all drying on my skin, it has revitalised it, it’s looking fresh and glowing too. A really lovely toner. You get 150ml of product for just £2.99 at Superdrug. HERE

Some More Beauty Booty!!

Hello my loves, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

Well another shopping trip just had to be done at Superdrug, this time it was an online purchase. Three items were in the sale so might not be available at the time of posting this, if they are I’ll leave links for you at the end.

IMG_8290

The first product I picked was something I’ve wanted to try for a while, and that’s the Superdrug own brand of Vitamin E Cleansing Oil. I’ll use it for a wee while and get back to you with my thoughts. It’s just £2.99 for 150 ml HERE To go with the cleansing oil I picked up the Vitamin E Toning Mist, again I’ll get back to you with my thoughts soon. The Toning Mist is also £2.99 HERE

The next 3 items are the ones I picked out of the sale section on the superdrug website. Theres two Dove Purely Pampering body washes with my favourite Shea Butter. They aren’t in the sale now, but the Dove Purely Pampering Hand Cream with Shea Butter is in the sale at just 40p for goodness sake! HERE

Lastly, I picked one of the newest eyeshadow palettes from MUA Makeup Academy, it’s from their Luxe range of cosmetics and I can tell you right now that I’m very excited by this little palette. After dipping my fingers and a brush into it all I shall tell you is that it is just A MAZE ING!! There are two new palettes just launched, I have Utopia and the other is Paradise, both are £8.00 HERE (Superdrug appear to have made a boob in their descriptions, calling both palettes Paradise)

So that’s my little Superdrug online beauty booty. I’ll be back soon with some reviews for you, thank you for stopping by today.
