{AD-Gifted} Lotil Original, seriously good dry skin cream!

Hey, there my lovelies.

How are you all doing? I’m so sorry for not posting for such an age, I’ve just been feeling that there are more important things going on in the world right now, people might not be interested in reading blogs, especially product reviews. But, people have been reading here on my blog which is fantastic, thank you!

Even in lockdown, I have been lucky enough to have been sent some lovely products to try out and then review them here on EAB. This dry skin cream and lip balm from the brand Lotil really are seriously good. I do have dry skin anyway, which has gotten dry during the aging process, but it just seems to have become drier over the last few weeks while being shut-in more than normal. The tops of my feet, elbows, and oh my goodness, my lips have been very dry, and not forgetting my hands. Oh the hands, they have really taken a battering with all the extra handwashing!  I expect you are all the same? but then along came the fabulous Lotil Cream. Before I begin I should say that it does contain Lanolin, which is a wax that’s secreted from the wool of a sheep, and so this product is not vegan friendly. However Lotil does not test on animals. Other ingredients I have listed below for you.

Aqua (Water), Glyceryl Stearate SE, Glycerin, Lanolin Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Oleic Acid, Triethanolamine, Stearic Acid, p-Chloro-m-Cresol, Parfum (Fragrance), Linalool, Limonene, Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, Anise Alcohol, Benzyl Cinnamate.

Lotil Cream has been in households for over 100 years. Great for all the family to use and in any way at all where dry, chapped skin needs to be soothed, and it gives protection from the enviroment too. The fragrance isn’t overpowering at all, it smells rather like a fresh body talc in my opinion, really quite lovely. Lotil cream also has anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties which gives lasting protection from infection. It’s a rich cream that is easily and quickly absorbed into the skin without leaving a greasy feel.

I have used Lotil cream on various parts of my body. I have used it on my feet after bathing, and removed hard skin, applied the cream to them and popped on socks, boom, no more rough hard skin! My feet remained soft for a fair while so that I can now wear my sandals. I’ve massaged some cream into the skin around my toenails, lovely and soft now. My hands have been very dry and sore due to all the extra handwashing, but massaging Lotil cream into them has softned them completely, the backs of my hands really were looking old and wrinkly, but now so much smoother looking.

So about 10 years ago I sustained an injury to my shin, I bumped into the coffee table and got a rather big bruise, which ended up turning into a nasty ulcer, which was literally eating away at my leg. I had to have foot to thigh bandaging for about 6 months. At the end of those 6 months I had a leg as hairy as a Gorilla and a scar about 3 inches big! I solved the problem of the hairy leg with shaving, but the scar I have for the rest of my life, there is nothing I can do about it, I live with it. My scar does get very dry, especially in the colder months when I wear trousers all the time. I just applied my regular body lotion to keep it soft and smooth looking. But sometimes I had to apply the body lotion 2-3 times a day which got rather tedious, and I eventually didn’t bother. Now I have Lotil Cream to apply to my scar, and I will never apply anything else again. It’s fantastic! I’m going to show you photos of my scar. The first one is before application of the Lotil Cream.

Can you see how dry and scaly my scar is? Sometimes it would itch too. I am always aware not to scratch at the scar as there is every possibility that it could cause bleeding then there would be a chance that it would ulcerate again.

This is my scar after applying Lotil Cream. It’s so much softer and smoother. The dry scaly skin has disappeared and so has the itchiness too. Lotil Cream once it’s sunk into my skin lasts for ages, I never have to re-apply during the day. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue that could stick to clothes, it absorbes completely. Now I use Lotil Cream as part of my regular beauty routine. Lotil Cream comes in various pack sizes.

30ml – handy miniature tube
50ml – handbag-sized tube
114ml – multi-purpose home use tub
500ml – extra large container with pump dispenser

I have also been using and loving a lot, the Lotil Lip Care lip balm, with SPF 30. It contains all the beautiful caring goodies that the Lotil Cream has, it’s fragrance free and no nasty taste to it either. I was suffering from sore lips because I’m a lip licker, and applying the Lotil Lip Care has helped with that too. I always like to apply lip balm at the start of my makeup application, by the time I get to lipstick my lips are soft and smooth ready for lippy. I often apply lip balm and then take a cotton bud and scrub over my lips to exfoliate, wipe away excess then re-apply lip balm, bingo soft smooth lips! Lotil Lip Care is great for that pupose too.

I really have my new “hero” products with Lotil. They also have foot treatment products in the range and I’m going to be giving them a go too. You will find all Lotil products on Amazon HERE. You can also purchase at Boots too, but right now it is out of stock and you could try again later HERE.

Thank you for stopping by and reading today my lovelies, stay safe.

First Aid for Dry Skin from Australian Bodycare, Any Time…….

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa..

My skin is so dry in some places at the moment but thank goodness for a product that I do call first aid for dry skin. This is one of those fantastic Tea Tree products from Australian Bodycare, this is the Any Time Balm.

It’s a super creamy emollient in the form of a balm. The ingredients are just amazing for my skin, and as is usual with Australian Bodycare products, this contains wonderful Tea Tree Oil making it antiseptic and anti-bacterial, which I love! It also has Soya and Macadamia oil in there too. Chamomile oil is present in the Any Time Balm which is soothing and calming for the skin.

This super balm can be used where ever you are suffering from dry skin. Knees, heels, elbows, lips and cuticles to name just a few. To trial my Any Time Balm I have used it on the tops of my feet, which do get so super dry and itchy, and around the cuticles on my toenails. I never treat my feet, they just get washed and dried and I used my Micro Pedi when hard skin appears, and I paint my toenails, I never treat them to a foot lotion so they do get quite dry. But I have been using the ABC Any Time Balm every night, and sometimes after my morning bath I’ll pop some on and wear socks. I always massage some into the cuticles of my toenails too. This balm is just fabulous for my feet! They are no longer dry and scaly or itchy, in fact I can’t wait to get flip flops on now! I keep my pot of balm beside me all the time, if my lips feel a bit dry and sore, I pat a little balm into them, and my cuticles too. Mark gets dry sore skin between his fingers from work, I gave him some of my balm and it worked a treat, now he loves it too! It’s Vegan and Vegetarian friendly too….

Pop over to KLM Beauty where you will find Australian Bodycare Any Time Balm HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

IT’S FACE MASK FRIDAY!!

Hello welcome to another Face Mask Friday on Elegant Ageless Beauty…

TTbeauty

Today I have a sheet mask from Timeless Truth, this is the Deep Sea Extract Moisturising Mask. This mask is ideal for those of us with dry skin or dry patches on the skin. The ingredients in the mask are awesome, it contains Deep Ocean Water which is a natural source of ionic minerals, it’s great for hydration as it’s absorbed into the skin which will help  to reduce an uneven complexion. There’s Seaweed in there too, which is odorless and it’s non allergic and non irritating. Seaweed will help to nourish hydrate and detoxify the skin. Hyaluronic Acid is in there which is non toxic, it helps to hold onto the water in the skin therefore allowing Collagen to work at keeping the skin plump and giving it a  more youthful appearance. Hyaluronic Acid also has moisturising properties which is needed for tissue hydration. This mask is from the Timeless Truth Fusion range, which even before they are soaked in the wonderous serum, have beneficial properties in their own right. Please excuse the next photo!

TTBeautySeaExtract

When I took the mask out of the sachet, it was absolutely full of serum. I opened the mask out and removed the plastic backing. I simply placed the mask onto my face darkest blue side to the skin, this is where all the beautiful ingredients are to provide all that moisturisation to help get the luminosity back and get my glow on again! I sat and relaxed for 30 minutes before removing the mask, and when I did my skin felt so good. It was still wet from the serum so I massaged it into my skin. It felt silky smooth, it looked smoother too. I get a little patch of redness on my chin which has only occurred in the last few years, the redness appears to be lessened. Above my top lip usually gets a bit dry and sore from hair removal, but it’s calmed down for sure. This mask doesn’t have a strong fragrance, it certainly doesn’t smell of seaweed, it’s very cooling and refreshing and a delight to use. I can see myself enjoying this mask in the Summer, and for a lovely cooling treat pop it into the fridge for half an hour before use. A single mask is just £4.90 or a box of 5 is £23.50 from HERE

Heaven by Deborah Mitchell Skincare…Chamomile Desensitising Hydrogel

Hello and welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

HeavenSkincare_Hydrogel

Regular readers will know I’ve been reviewing products from a most divine skincare brand, Heaven by Deborah Mitchell. The lovely lady herself sent me the most beautiful gift set at Christmas and I’ve been enjoying myself with them ever since! Just in case you missed my previous Heaven Skincare reviews I’ll leave links to them at the end of this review if you would like to check them out…

This is the Chamomile Desensitising Hydrogel a toner to be used after cleansing.  It comes in a pump type dispensary which gives you the exact amount you require. The ingredients within the product are amazing! It has organic Chamomile and Rose oils, organic Witch Hazel and Coconut and if you think I bet that smells good, you’d be right! It’s a lovely fresh fragrance, not too heavy on the Rose which can sometimes be a bit “heady” in skincare products, in my humble opinion. If your skin is dry and sensitive this is fantastic, it will help the skin to become “less thirsty” it’s great if you suffer from rosacea and acne rosacea or spots with its healing properties, it helps calm down redness. It will also help de-puff the eye area too and fine lines are minimised. This is such an amazing “multi tasking” product you can even use it as a primer before your foundation or as a treatment around the eyes for extra moisturisation.

I used this hydrogel after cleansing all over my face and around my eyes. It is alcohol free so there is absolutely no stinging, it’s very refreshing as I applied it on cotton wool over my face. Immediately afterwards my skin felt smooth and soft, pores were less noticeable which is a BIG bonus for me, and it certainly didn’t leave my skin dry and tight, it felt perfect and ready for a product that I shall be bringing you next time which is the Heaven Skincare BeeBee Cream, a beautiful tinted moisturiser. If you would like to check out the Heaven-ly Hydrogels, and there are 3 to choose from, pop over to the website HERE

The beautiful Deborah Mitchell has also made videos to show you the way with her products, over on You Tube HERE.

Soap and Glory…..The Righteous Butter.

Hello again my loves, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I’m rather late to the party when it comes to Soap and Glory, I’ve always wanted to try it, so I was very happy to see a tub of The Righteous Butter in my new Latest in Beauty box which is in collaboration with Jane Cunningham aka British Beauty Blogger.

IMG_8747

The first thing that caught my eye when I first saw any Soap and Glory was of course the lovely cute packaging. The pictures on each product are of 1950s style, and they have such great names too. I’ve never been too keen on a body butter, preferring a body lotion for my body moisturising, I always found body butter sticky on my skin, whereas a lotion sinks in straight away. But the Righteous Butter isn’t sticky and it sinks in beautifully. I’ve a particularly dry patch on my shin where I have a huge scar it does tend to go really “flakey” on the new skin growth. I used my Righteous Butter on my legs paying particular attention to my scar after bathing, and the following morning it was still soft and moisturised without a sign of any flakiness. This beautiful body butter is just fantastic for elbows and knees, and the tops of my feet too.

No wonder this is a perfect body moisturiser, the ingredients within the product are fabulous! Shea Butter, coconut oil, aloe vera all help with maintaining soft skin. The fragrance? That’s just WOW! I was very surprised to notice that what I could smell in the pot smelt nothing like what it is on my skin. In the pot it smells light and fruity, when it’s massaged into my skin it smells heavier, more musky. Maybe it’s just me?

So, I’ve dipped my toes into the world of Soap and Glory and it’s safe to say I could get addicted! I certainly would love to try more from the brand, and I’ve got my eye on a few things. I got my Righteous Butter in my beauty box from Latest in Beauty, but you can pop into your local Boots on the High Street or Boots online HERE for yours.

I’d love some Soap and Glory recommendations, what do you die hard fans think I should try?
