{AD-Gifted} Lotil Original, seriously good dry skin cream!

Hey, there my lovelies.

How are you all doing? I’m so sorry for not posting for such an age, I’ve just been feeling that there are more important things going on in the world right now, people might not be interested in reading blogs, especially product reviews. But, people have been reading here on my blog which is fantastic, thank you!

Even in lockdown, I have been lucky enough to have been sent some lovely products to try out and then review them here on EAB. This dry skin cream and lip balm from the brand Lotil really are seriously good. I do have dry skin anyway, which has gotten dry during the aging process, but it just seems to have become drier over the last few weeks while being shut-in more than normal. The tops of my feet, elbows, and oh my goodness, my lips have been very dry, and not forgetting my hands. Oh the hands, they have really taken a battering with all the extra handwashing!  I expect you are all the same? but then along came the fabulous Lotil Cream. Before I begin I should say that it does contain Lanolin, which is a wax that’s secreted from the wool of a sheep, and so this product is not vegan friendly. However Lotil does not test on animals. Other ingredients I have listed below for you.

Aqua (Water), Glyceryl Stearate SE, Glycerin, Lanolin Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Oleic Acid, Triethanolamine, Stearic Acid, p-Chloro-m-Cresol, Parfum (Fragrance), Linalool, Limonene, Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, Anise Alcohol, Benzyl Cinnamate.

Lotil Cream has been in households for over 100 years. Great for all the family to use and in any way at all where dry, chapped skin needs to be soothed, and it gives protection from the enviroment too. The fragrance isn’t overpowering at all, it smells rather like a fresh body talc in my opinion, really quite lovely. Lotil cream also has anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties which gives lasting protection from infection. It’s a rich cream that is easily and quickly absorbed into the skin without leaving a greasy feel.

I have used Lotil cream on various parts of my body. I have used it on my feet after bathing, and removed hard skin, applied the cream to them and popped on socks, boom, no more rough hard skin! My feet remained soft for a fair while so that I can now wear my sandals. I’ve massaged some cream into the skin around my toenails, lovely and soft now. My hands have been very dry and sore due to all the extra handwashing, but massaging Lotil cream into them has softned them completely, the backs of my hands really were looking old and wrinkly, but now so much smoother looking.

So about 10 years ago I sustained an injury to my shin, I bumped into the coffee table and got a rather big bruise, which ended up turning into a nasty ulcer, which was literally eating away at my leg. I had to have foot to thigh bandaging for about 6 months. At the end of those 6 months I had a leg as hairy as a Gorilla and a scar about 3 inches big! I solved the problem of the hairy leg with shaving, but the scar I have for the rest of my life, there is nothing I can do about it, I live with it. My scar does get very dry, especially in the colder months when I wear trousers all the time. I just applied my regular body lotion to keep it soft and smooth looking. But sometimes I had to apply the body lotion 2-3 times a day which got rather tedious, and I eventually didn’t bother. Now I have Lotil Cream to apply to my scar, and I will never apply anything else again. It’s fantastic! I’m going to show you photos of my scar. The first one is before application of the Lotil Cream.

Can you see how dry and scaly my scar is? Sometimes it would itch too. I am always aware not to scratch at the scar as there is every possibility that it could cause bleeding then there would be a chance that it would ulcerate again.

This is my scar after applying Lotil Cream. It’s so much softer and smoother. The dry scaly skin has disappeared and so has the itchiness too. Lotil Cream once it’s sunk into my skin lasts for ages, I never have to re-apply during the day. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue that could stick to clothes, it absorbes completely. Now I use Lotil Cream as part of my regular beauty routine. Lotil Cream comes in various pack sizes.

30ml – handy miniature tube
50ml – handbag-sized tube
114ml – multi-purpose home use tub
500ml – extra large container with pump dispenser

I have also been using and loving a lot, the Lotil Lip Care lip balm, with SPF 30. It contains all the beautiful caring goodies that the Lotil Cream has, it’s fragrance free and no nasty taste to it either. I was suffering from sore lips because I’m a lip licker, and applying the Lotil Lip Care has helped with that too. I always like to apply lip balm at the start of my makeup application, by the time I get to lipstick my lips are soft and smooth ready for lippy. I often apply lip balm and then take a cotton bud and scrub over my lips to exfoliate, wipe away excess then re-apply lip balm, bingo soft smooth lips! Lotil Lip Care is great for that pupose too.

I really have my new “hero” products with Lotil. They also have foot treatment products in the range and I’m going to be giving them a go too. You will find all Lotil products on Amazon HERE. You can also purchase at Boots too, but right now it is out of stock and you could try again later HERE.

Thank you for stopping by and reading today my lovelies, stay safe.

A Load of Empties!…

Hello lovely people!

I have always thought that an empties post wouldn’t really work on my blog, it’s hard to make a bunch of empty products look pretty in a photo, but I’ve seen a few bloggers have done an “empties” blog post and it does work out for them, so I thought I might as well give it a go too then. Here goes!

This first of many empties from Heaven Skincare, was Mark’s favourite product from them, and I have to say that it is rather lovely as I did pinch it sometimes myself. It’s the M4M Anti Ageing Moisturiser for men. If you would like to read the full review you can find it HERE.

Another one of Mark’s favourites, and I could see why, I borrowed it to shave my legs and underarms and it really is lovely to use. My skin was so smooth and soft and wasn’t irritated at all. The full review is HERE.

This MUA Makeup Academy Lip Scrub with Vitamin E is another empty, and I’ve another one in my basket on the Superdrug website for a re-purchase. I just love it! I am never going to use another lip scrub. If you would like to see why I love it so much take a look at my full review HERE.

Two Heaven Skincare body products are all used up. I do have a little of the Afternoon Tea fragrance hand and body lotion left that I use solely on my hands now, I’d rather use whats left for my hand care because I love the way it makes my hands look and feel after using it. I’ve a full review if you wish to take a look HERE.

The Freedom Makeup Glycolic Glow Tonic, with Ginseng and Aloe Vera is almost all used up. I haven’t been using it every day since I got it, because it’s an exfoliant and I have been using it as well as other acid treatments. I shall be re-purchasing another bottle soon. You can read my full review HERE.

This Wonder Balm from Beauty Kitchen is a life saver for lips and cuticles in the harsh winter months. Containing cocoa butter it’s so moisturising as a lip balm, I used it every day throughout the day. If my cuticles needed a bit extra hydration this is all I used. I am so disappointed that I don’t have anymore left at the moment, but I shall be ordering some more. Read my full review HERE.

My most favourite of all my Heaven moisturisers was the gorgeous fruity creamy Divine Cream, I adored it, and was so disappointed to finish it up. I shall be treating myself to a small one, soon. You can see why I loved it HERE. Another Heaven empty is the New Edition Cream Cleanser, and I’m going to purchase one as soon as I can, it contains bee venom and can actually be used as a moisturiser too! I’ve a review HERE.

Thank you for reading, I shall be back soon with more new product reviews. I’m hoping to bring some makeup products to my blog very soon, just for a change.

January Favourites!

Hello lovelies! Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

So the first month of a new year has gone and we’re into February, I for one cannot wait for Spring, my favourite season. Just to have some bright light coming in through the windows would be oh so good! Not just for my sense of well-being but it would make the taking of photos for my blog so much easier too. Anyhow, I thought as it’s a new month I would share with you what I’ve loved through January. Let me start with some skincare.

beepeel

I am still enjoying my Heaven Skincare Bee Peel. I use it twice a week at night-time after cleansing, just leaving on my face for ten minutes before rinsing off, leaves my skin feeling fresher and softer, looking plumper and more radiant and enlarged pores appear lessened. AND, I have used the Bee Peel on my hands too! I shall tell you more about that in a later blog post. I have a review of Heaven Skincare Bee Peel HERE

IMG_3611

An oldie but a goodie! The wonderful MUA Makeup Academy Undressed palette has been my go to eyeshadow during January. When this palette was launched it was dubbed the perfect dupe for the Urban Decay original Naked palette. Many dupes have come after this one, but for me this MUA one is my favourite, and the best. If you would like to see my review you can find it HERE. You can purchase from HERE.

MUA Makeup Academy’s Metallic Liquid Lips in the shade Bedazzle has been a big favourite over the last month. It’s moisturising and glossy for the colder months of Winter, and it’s super pigmented too. You can find more shades of Metallic Liquid Lips HERE,  and I also have a review HERE.

IMG_9277

This Wonder Balm from Beauty Kitchen has been a saviour of my nails and lips throughout the whole of the last year, not just the last month. I use it all the time, keeping it to hand everywhere I go. I use it as a lip balm to keep my lips from becoming dry and it’s fantastic to massage into my cuticles between manicures too. Find Beauty Kitchen HERE. And I have a review HERE.

The absolute highlight of January for me was becoming a winner! I won Heaven Skincare Best Blogger award at their annual awards event last Sunday 22nd January. Unfortunately Mark and I couldn’t attend the event in Birmingham, but when I found out I had won I was absolutely gobsmacked, shocked, humbled, and every positive emotion you can think of I felt it. I will be writing a blog post about winning my award because there are a few people I need to thank properly, and a separate post is needed for that.

Thank you for stopping by today my loves.

My Top 6 MUA Makeup Academy Products….

Hey lovelies, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

As regular readers of EAB might know, my favourite High Street budget makeup brand is the fabulous MUA Makeup Academy. Obviously I love them for  the price point of the products, but you also get great quality for such little money too. I thought that I would share with you my top 5 MUA products that I’ve been using for a long time or I’ve just found and been loving quite recently.

MuaMattePowder

The Skin Define Matte Perfect Loose Powder. This is a newer product in my makeup bag and I do use it every time I wear makeup. It really gives my skin the matte finish I like, it doesn’t clog up my pores and it’s nourishing with the Vitamins A and E, and Jojoba in there too. See my full review HERE

IMG_7920 (2)

The award winning Pro-Base Prime & Conceal. This is just fabulous! It’s got everything you need for colour correcting different areas of the face, it’s soft and creamy and blends beautifully. I’ve actually “hit pan” on the salmon pink shade now, it’s the one I use most of all. Click HERE for full review.

IMG_7681

The gorgeous Elysium eye shadow palette is my most reached for MUA palette. Gorgeous mix of shimmer and matte shades for a pretty daytime look, to the sexy sultry smokey eye for evenings out. If you would like to see my full review, please click HERE.

For Spring and Summer time I’m loving a more natural look for my lips. For me there is nothing better than the Sweet Sheen Lip Balm in the shade Coral Reef. It’s just the right amount of colour and is super hydrating for the lips. You can see my full review HERE.

MuaLipScrub

I adore this lip scrub, I use it every night during my evening skincare routine. No more waking up with dry lips for me. It sloughs away all the dry skin and hydrates and conditions them with lovely Vitamin E. You can see my full review HERE.

MuaAvocadoMascara

The Eye Define Nourish & Care Volume Mascara is a new discovery for me and it’s now my favourite budget brand mascara. It’s so black, it volumises my eye lashes and it conditions too. The brush itself is perfect and grabs every lash for me. You can see my full review HERE.

So that’s my top 6 MUA Makeup Academy products that I love to use on a regular basis. If you haven’t checked out MUA yet, click HERE.
