Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick by Cassie Lomas for B. Makeup…..

Hey there lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

This is another gorgeous makeup product from B. Makeup at Superdrug. It’s one from a range of products by  Cassie Lomas. Cassie is a makeup artist and brand ambassador for B. Makeup, she also owns the Cassie Lomas Makeup Academy. I’ll leave her details/links at the end of this post.

So, one of Cassie’s products I’m sharing is the Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick.

The shade is called The Nineties. It’s a bright orange – red lipstick perfect for Summer, and the colour actually does suit me, I don’t often do a red lip but when I used this for the first time the other day, I quite liked the colour on me. I’m not a matte lip kind of woman I think I’ve mentioned that before, I feel they can be more ageing on me at times, making my lips look dry and cracked. But this is B. Makeup and it’s really very nice. It’s a doe foot sponge applicator which apply product perfect onto the lips. Now, I applied the product to my bottom lip first and smoothed my lips together to distribute onto top lip. Oh my goodness it was so smooth and not at all sticky, BUT the liquid lipstick was on about 4 of my teeth! I had to remove it with a dry cotton bud, and it took about 5 to 7 minutes to dry completely! I wore the liquid lips all day, it lasted me until I took it off at night. It didn’t crack on my lips at all, or make my lips feel dry. As with other liquid lipsticks I’ve tried I did have to remove it with an oil cleanser.

Okay, I firmly believe that the liquid lipstick had become too warm from the extreme temperatures we are having in the UK at the moment, I think that it melted (if a liquid lipstick can melt?) onto my teeth and then took all that time to dry down because of the heat. I used it today, it’s not hot and it has applied just lovely. I think in future I shall pop this liquid lipstick into the fridge for a few minutes before applying, during any other heatwave we may have.

In essence the Cassie Lomas for  B. Makeup Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick is lovely, pigment is amazing and yes it does dry down matte after a short while. Sometimes I just like to put a tiny amount on my finger and apply it over the top of a clear lip balm for a more subtle natural look. Unfortunatly this shade is no longer available, however you can shop all Cassie Lomas for B. Cosmetics HERE

January Favourites!

Hello lovelies! Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty..

So the first month of a new year has gone and we’re into February, I for one cannot wait for Spring, my favourite season. Just to have some bright light coming in through the windows would be oh so good! Not just for my sense of well-being but it would make the taking of photos for my blog so much easier too. Anyhow, I thought as it’s a new month I would share with you what I’ve loved through January. Let me start with some skincare.

beepeel

I am still enjoying my Heaven Skincare Bee Peel. I use it twice a week at night-time after cleansing, just leaving on my face for ten minutes before rinsing off, leaves my skin feeling fresher and softer, looking plumper and more radiant and enlarged pores appear lessened. AND, I have used the Bee Peel on my hands too! I shall tell you more about that in a later blog post. I have a review of Heaven Skincare Bee Peel HERE

An oldie but a goodie! The wonderful MUA Makeup Academy Undressed palette has been my go to eyeshadow during January. When this palette was launched it was dubbed the perfect dupe for the Urban Decay original Naked palette. Many dupes have come after this one, but for me this MUA one is my favourite, and the best. If you would like to see my review you can find it HERE. You can purchase from HERE.

MUA Makeup Academy’s Metallic Liquid Lips in the shade Bedazzle has been a big favourite over the last month. It’s moisturising and glossy for the colder months of Winter, and it’s super pigmented too. You can find more shades of Metallic Liquid Lips HERE,  and I also have a review HERE.

This Wonder Balm from Beauty Kitchen has been a saviour of my nails and lips throughout the whole of the last year, not just the last month. I use it all the time, keeping it to hand everywhere I go. I use it as a lip balm to keep my lips from becoming dry and it’s fantastic to massage into my cuticles between manicures too. Find Beauty Kitchen HERE. And I have a review HERE.

The absolute highlight of January for me was becoming a winner! I won Heaven Skincare Best Blogger award at their annual awards event last Sunday 22nd January. Unfortunately Mark and I couldn’t attend the event in Birmingham, but when I found out I had won I was absolutely gobsmacked, shocked, humbled, and every positive emotion you can think of I felt it. I will be writing a blog post about winning my award because there are a few people I need to thank properly, and a separate post is needed for that.

Thank you for stopping by today my loves.

Product Testing UK….Review of I ❤ Makeup Lip Lava…..

Hello again lovelies!

So, I’ve just become a member of Product Testing UK’s Beauty Blogger list and today I received my first product for review. Firstly, here’s what the company says:

“Producttesting.uk.com is a one of a kind product testing company featuring large branded products, mystery shopping and secret dining opportunities.

We select products to be tested every week and our product testers are selected at random. You can register for many different products ranging from Sweets and Samples to iPad’s and Smartphones.

User reviews are invaluable to manufacturers and retailers to ensure the best user experience and ongoing product development.

It’s completely free to sign up and if selected, all we ask for is a full written review, photos of yourself with the product and a video review. You will then have the opportunity to keep the product for FREE.” If you would like the opportunity to test gorgeous beauty products yourself, AND you DON’T need to be a Beauty Blogger, anyone can apply click HERE. So on with my product review.

I was sent an I Heart Makeup Lip Lava. As everyone  knows, I Heart Makeup is the sister brand to Makeup Revolution, and regular readers of Elegant Ageless Beauty knows I’m a huge fan of the brand. However I’ve never tried the I Heart Makeup range, until now.

Firstly I just want to say that I had no choice in the shade of Lip Lava, and this colour is awful on me! The rules of Product Testing UK is that I am supposed to be in a photo with the product. You lovelies know me well enough by now, I don’t appear in photos except the ones when I’m reviewing my beloved beauty masks! I don’t have the confidence YET! So, sorry Product Testing you won’t see me in the photo but it’s my blog and this is the way I run it.

Anyway the Lip Lava I was sent is in shade “Shockwave” a bright purple/pink which is a gorgeous colour but on me is awful. It’s a super gorgeous liquid lipstick product, with very high pigmentation. It glides on perfectly with its super creamy consistency using the angled sponge tipped applicator straight from the tube. It’s gorgeous and glossy, contains vitamin E so it’s good for the lips too, bonus! It feels light on the lips, and definitely isn’t sticky. I would like to try another Lip Lava, but a shade that is more suited to me because it really is a beautiful lip product. The I Heart Makeup Lip Lava is just £2.99, and if you would like to see more just click HERE

Well that was my first review for Product Testing UK. I’m not altogether happy with the ruling regarding showing oneself for their reviews. If I get asked to review for them again fine, if not then I’m not too worried. You lovely people are who matter to me and if you like what I’m doing then that makes me happy.

See you again soon, I’ve got some skin care to share with you next!
