Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick by Cassie Lomas for B. Makeup…..

Hey there lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

This is another gorgeous makeup product from B. Makeup at Superdrug. It’s one from a range of products by  Cassie Lomas. Cassie is a makeup artist and brand ambassador for B. Makeup, she also owns the Cassie Lomas Makeup Academy. I’ll leave her details/links at the end of this post.

So, one of Cassie’s products I’m sharing is the Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick.

The shade is called The Nineties. It’s a bright orange – red lipstick perfect for Summer, and the colour actually does suit me, I don’t often do a red lip but when I used this for the first time the other day, I quite liked the colour on me. I’m not a matte lip kind of woman I think I’ve mentioned that before, I feel they can be more ageing on me at times, making my lips look dry and cracked. But this is B. Makeup and it’s really very nice. It’s a doe foot sponge applicator which apply product perfect onto the lips. Now, I applied the product to my bottom lip first and smoothed my lips together to distribute onto top lip. Oh my goodness it was so smooth and not at all sticky, BUT the liquid lipstick was on about 4 of my teeth! I had to remove it with a dry cotton bud, and it took about 5 to 7 minutes to dry completely! I wore the liquid lips all day, it lasted me until I took it off at night. It didn’t crack on my lips at all, or make my lips feel dry. As with other liquid lipsticks I’ve tried I did have to remove it with an oil cleanser.

Okay, I firmly believe that the liquid lipstick had become too warm from the extreme temperatures we are having in the UK at the moment, I think that it melted (if a liquid lipstick can melt?) onto my teeth and then took all that time to dry down because of the heat. I used it today, it’s not hot and it has applied just lovely. I think in future I shall pop this liquid lipstick into the fridge for a few minutes before applying, during any other heatwave we may have.

In essence the Cassie Lomas for  B. Makeup Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick is lovely, pigment is amazing and yes it does dry down matte after a short while. Sometimes I just like to put a tiny amount on my finger and apply it over the top of a clear lip balm for a more subtle natural look. Unfortunatly this shade is no longer available, however you can shop all Cassie Lomas for B. Cosmetics HERE

B. Makeup…..Velvet Matte Lipstick

Welcome my lovelies, I’m Teresa.

Just lately I have been using many products from B. Skincare and I love them, now I’ve been introduced to B. Makeup. Both ranges are Superdrug own brands and are available online and on your High Street. I thought that I’d start by sharing with you a pretty red lipstick. This is a very gorgeous Velvet Matte Lipstick in the shade “Risky Business” it comes from a range of 12 glorious shades.

A matte lip is all the rage right now, personally I’m not a fan. I’m 58 this week and for me I think matte lipstick is quite ageing. I think that if you have thinning lips as one ages, matte lipstick can make them look thinner. However this Velvet Matte formula from B. Makeup is a different matte lipstick from others that I’ve used. This contains Shea Butter and rather than being drying on the lips it’s hydrating instead. It does glide on the lips beautifully and the pigment is amazing. Once it’s on the lips rather than looking totally matte it does seem to have a creamy looking sheen to it, and it doesn’t appear to make my thinning lips look any thinner either. It’s also really comfortable to wear, it doesn’t feel as though it’s “cracking” on my lips, some matte lipsticks just feel that way on me. One thing I do like about matte lipstick is the longevity of wear, and this lasted me all day. It left a really pretty stain on my lips like I had been eating red berries. Quite pretty really.

The shade that I have here is “Risky Business” it’s an orange-y red shade perfect for Summer and completely out of my comfort zone, but hey I’m wearing it and loving it! Check out this and the other shades and more from B. Makeup HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Crowd Colour Matte Liquid Lip…

Hello, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Ok so Crowd Colour are a brand that gives! Not only great quality make up but everything you buy from them they give 10% back to your local schools and community! Click the link HERE. To learn more.

Gareth from Crowd Colour very kindly sent me three of their Matte Liquid Lip colours, this one is RUBY.

This next shade is another red with more pink undertones, this is CHLOE.

But my favourite shade and the one that I wear most of is a coral/nude shade called IZZY.

I do like the way the liquid lipsticks apply, they have a doe foot applicator and they go on to the lips so smoothly, the three shades are very highly pigmented and they dry to a silky matte finish. When I tried the RUBY lip colour I wasn’t sure I would like any of them, I’ve always been wary of matte lip products, due to my ageing thinning lips! On first applying I noticed how flakey my lips were! So I removed the colour and used a lip scrub to get rid of the dryness. That’s better, the dark red lip colour looked a whole lot better. It dried down in about 5 minutes, and I did notice that my lips felt slightly dry and tight, but I guess that’s just the nature of a lot of matte lip products, they aren’t very moisturising, are they?

I applied my matte lip colour after breakfast, and the colour was still on at lunchtime. I drink a lot of coffee and water throughout the day AND I’m a lip licker and the colour stayed on my lips without me needing to re-apply. It did however start to break down and disappear after I had eaten a salad sandwich with mayonnaise. I decided to remove the rest of the lip colour, and I used a normal micellar water which took it off completely, so there’s no need to scrub it off your lips, it will come off in a normal skin care routine.

There are 6 pretty shades available, check them out HERE.

MUA Luxe Velvet Matte Lipstick

Hello, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Today I’m coming to you to share  a lovely new lipstick that I purchased myself from MUA Makeup Academy. This is relatively new to their Luxe range of cosmetics, it’s the Velvet Matte Lipstick, I have shade number 12.

Really gorgeous packaging for this lipstick in black and gold matte. The cap and bullet are a really strong “snap” open/closure, absolutely no chance of this opening in your makeup bag! The lipstick itself is faceted with clean  sharp edges for a really neat and precise application to the lips. It applies like a dream too. I was never really a fan of matte lip products, thinking that they just made my lips look dry and thin and more aged, but for a matte lipstick I found this one quite moisturising and my lips didn’t look thin and “old” either. But what is it about matte lip products, why do they all smell like a painters workshop? The weird smell isn’t as strong with this lipstick, but it is there, although it doesn’t taste horrid. Once you have got by the smell and the lipstick had dried down there is no transference to my coffee cup and it didn’t disappear when I ate food either. In fact I had the colour on my lips for about 4 hours, without it fading and leaving me with that horrid dry lip line, even with me always licking my lips too. A highly pigmented full coverage matte lipstick that I really am enjoying at the moment, and I never thought I would. I am actually going to purchase another couple of shades right after I’ve posted this, from the MUA website HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Milani Colour Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick…

Hello and welcome back to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I’m sharing with you my thoughts of another lovely product by Milani Cosmetics that I purchased recently.

IMG_8038

This is the Colour Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick, and I have the shade Matte Beauty. I have always been wary of using matte lipsticks, for a couple of reasons, the first one being that without a hint of sheen on my lips it would be ageing for a lady my age, and the second reason was that I thought it would be drying on my lips and once removed my lips would be dry too. But when I used this little beauty my concerns were no more. This lipstick glides on so smoothly and indeed it’s lovely and moisturising from the grapeseed extract within it. The longevity of wear is great too, I wore it for about 3 hours before it looked like it needed topping up, and most surprisingly there isn’t a lot of transference onto my coffee cup either and when I ate a nectarine it was still on my lips!

IMG_8132

As you can tell from the “swatch” it really is a matte lipstick with no sheen or sparkle whatsoever. When I removed it my lips weren’t dry and stained from wear, which I have found with some matte lipsticks in the past. I really like this lipstick and I shall be buying more shades and there are some beautiful shades to choose from on the brand new Milani UK website HERE.

Have you tried Milani Cosmetics yet? What can you recommend to me?
