The Skincare Products I’m using at 63 Years Old, Cleansers.

Hey there lovely people, Welcome to my blog Elegant Ageless Beauty. It’s been a while since my last post so I thought that I would start back with a basic one, one that starts at the beginning “a very good place to start” like the song says. So let us start with Cleansing.

wp-1696248765986

I have three cleansers on the go right now, I do like a pick-and-mix haha, and I have only just started to use the oil cleanser from Simple and wow it is rather wonderful!

The Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil really is hydrating, it is perfect for my mature dry skin. It removes my makeup, including mascara beautifully. I massage the oil all across my skin, including my eyes, and then I use a wet muslin cloth or face cloth to remove it. Afterwards, my skin doesn’t feel dry and tight. It just feels lovely and clean, and soft too, with no oily film left behind. There is no perfume, colour or dyes within this cleansing oil, it contains 100% Grapeseed oil, as well as vitamins A and E. Dermatologically tested and approved. Ophthalmologically tested. Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic.  The bottle is made from recycled plastic, which is why it looks greyish in colour. The Hydrating Cleansing Oil is PETA-certified cruelty-free and vegan, and most certainly does not test on animals,  and this is globally I might add. Quite simply, kind to skin, kind to animals and kind to our beautiful planet. I purchased it from Superdrug HERE. You can also get it at Boots HERE

Next up is one of my favourite products that I purchase regularly. This is a Superdrug own-brand product, it’s the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser. So thick and creamy and quite delicious. Cocoa butter with lots of Vitamin A, B and E in the ingredients. You just simply massage over the face for a couple of minutes then remove with the muslin cloth that comes with the cream cleanser. I love how this gives my face a micro-exfoliation as I remove it, and my skin feels soft and hydrated afterwards and looks glowing. I can get a deep cleanse with it too, removing all makeup. I don’t tend to take it over my eyes though, I would prefer to use a separate eye makeup remover. get the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser from Superdrug on your local High Street or online HERE.

My third cleanser is one by Garnier. from the Skin Active range, it’s the Rose Soothing Cleansing Milk, enriched with rose water and suitable for sensitive and dry skin. It’s called “milk” but it’s thicker, more like a lotion to me. It’s enriched with Damask rose flower water, and there are no parabens. No silicones. No artificial colourants in this cleansing milk. Rose water is known for its soothing properties, so it’s been very gentle on my skin. I use this as I do all my cleansers, I massage over the face then remove it with a wet face cloth/muslin cloth and remove it that way. My skin afterwards feels very clean and fresh, and really very soft. Afterwards, I finish off with my toner, which will be featured in my next post. I purchased the Garnier Rose Soothing Cleansing Milk from Superdrug HERE.

That’s it from me for now, I hope you will come back soon to see my thoughts on which toners I use in my skincare routine for a 63-year-old.

Trying To Get My Glow Back. 60 plus Beauty on a Budget..

Hello lovely people, Happy New Year 2023! Welcome back to my blog Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa, and I hope you are all doing okay.

My goodness, it’s rather chilly here in the UK at the moment, and I am feeling cold when I usually don’t. I tend to only pop the heating on to warm the radiators when I do get too badly cold during the day when I’m on my own, anything to save money with the cost of living crisis we (some) are facing.

I thought that for this post on my blog, I would share with you the skincare that I’m using currently, and as I’m in my early 60’s now I need products to help my skin get a bit of a glow as it can look a bit grey. I’m not bothered about wrinkles, they are a sign that I have lived and I’m lucky to be this age, it is more about skincare for giving me some glow and radiance back to my face, and at a budget affordable for me.

First up is cleansing, and I love the No7 Radiant Results Revitalising Foaming Cleanser, which unfortunately I believe is now discontinued, which is such a shame. I need to find an alternative.

Next up is the wonderful Gentle Facial Exfoliator by Cyclax. With Green Tea, Shea Butter and fine granules of Walnut shells this is a really gentle exfoliator for my dry mature skin, I use it about 3 times a week and it’s enough for me and it doesn’t dry my skin. You can purchase from Amazon UK HERE.

When I’m not using the exfoliator I will use the Lacura Healthy Glow Rose Toner. You will find Lacura products in your local Aldi supermarket. The Rose toner is so moisturising and calming with Hyaluronic acid and Aloe Vera, Rose and Elderflower, it actually smells amazing too and it’s also alcohol-free.

Now, one of the best sheet face masks I’ve used. This is the Nivea Natural Radiance 10-Minute Sheet Mask. This is the best treat for my tired-looking skin. It’s infused with Argan Oil  Shea butter, and Magnolia Bark extract. The sheet mask itself fits okay and feels soft to the touch when on the skin. I applied it and relaxed for 10 minutes and when I removed it I massaged the serum into my face. After a while, I noticed my skin looked so radiant, the best I’ve had it looking in a long time. I really do need to purchase some more of these sheet masks! By the way, they’re biodegradable too. My daughter gave me this mask for Christmas and I’m not sure where she purchased it, but you could check out Nivea’s website HERE. Oh, and yes, it came with the facial roller too.

My favourite daily moisturiser for giving me a more glowy complexion is my gorgeous Cyclax Moistura Daily moisturiser, I love this! It may be light but for my dry mature face it’s perfect and under foundation, it works perfectly for me whether I am using a matte or dewy foundation. You could pop over to Amazon UK for this HERE.

Lastly my eye cream of choice at the moment is the Boots Ingredients Caffeine Eye Cream. Caffeine is an antioxidant, so is perfect for using around the eye area, it makes the skin look, fresher more hydrated and moisturised. I tend to tap the cream into the skin gently and leave to soak in before starting any makeup. You can purchase from HERE.

Well, that’s me done for now, thank you so much for stopping by and reading today, I shall be back with more product reviews soon.

Take care,

Teresa.

I purchased this palette some time ago and I thought that it was about time I wrote my thoughts down, after all, I haven’t written a post here on my blog for ages now. So, if you have been here before thank you for sticking with me, if you have only just found me then Welcome, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Okay, so I purchased the MUA Makeup Academy Purist Palette from Superdrug on the High Street, but you can buy it directly from the MUA website. HERE or the Superdrug website HERE

wp-1645108041719

This is a 10-pan palette with a gorgeous mix of matte and shimmer cool-toned eye shadows.  They are all buttery soft and blendable to the intensity you want. The packaging is so pretty, and it’s made of cardboard so it can go into your recycling when you have used it up. I have another MUA eyeshadow palette to share with you very soon. One of these days I may pluck up the courage and actually share an actual look with you, right now I don’t have the confidence to do that.

Well that was a bit short and sweet wasn’t it, it will get better hopefully. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading today. if you do enjoy reading my blogs I would love it if you would join me over on Instagram HERE.

Creightons Pure Blends Hydrating Serum

Hello my lovelies, I hope you are all doing well. I’m Teresa.

I have been using and loving everything from the British beauty and wellness brand Creightons for a while now. I usually pick the products up from our local Jacks supermarket (Jacks is a subsidiary of Tesco) Over the last few months I have been using the Pure Blends Hydrating Serum in my skincare routine.

This Hydrating serum is suitable for sensitive skin, it doesn’t contain fragrance at all. It’s got a gorgeous texture to it, it sinks right into my skin without leaving it feeling sticky or greasy. I have been using it daytime and at night time too. In the end, I did have to reduce it to just in my night time routine as I was getting white spots on areas of my face. This usually means something is too rich for me and this serum is quite rich, especially when I use it with moisturiser and then my makeup on top. However, for a night time serum, it’s just right underneath my night cream. One pump of the serum is all I need, I usually press serum into my skin rather than massage it in. It’s a really good value for money hydrating serum and a little really does go a long way. Check out this and other Creightons products HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today, take care.

Lashings of Essence!

Hey there lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I am always on a quest to find my lashes! I used to have long thick eyelashes when I was younger, now I’m nearing 60 (next month) they have become sparse and so bloody straight. I can cope with them being sparse alright, but I hate that they have lost their oomph and curl, I want them to open up my eyes again. My eyes have become hooded over the years too which makes my lashes look even more non-existent. I did buy an eyelash serum to use at night to help regrowth, but I have always forgotten to use it in my nighttime routine. I’ll get back to using it (it’s a No7 one) and write a review, maybe that will spur me on to get the stuff on my lashes. But it is something you have to wait a while to see results of, and I’m not the most patient of women. I’d have to wait at least 3 months. If you think this is something you would like to see from me, leave me a comment.

Anyhoo, to give me a bit of confidence back, and some eyelashes I purchased a lash primer and mascara from the brand Essence.

I bought Lashes of the Day super volume mascara and Volume Booster lash primer. Let me start at the first base with the eyelash primer. This is infused with acai oil and mango butter to nourish the lashes, it’s white in colour when applied with the mascara wand applicator. You obviously apply it to your eyelashes before mascara let it dry for a few moments, then apply your mascara. It doesn’t dry down hard and crispy, my lashes still felt really soft. I had to have a sniff of the product, and to me, it smelt fruity. The brush is great at the lash separation, and got right to the really tiny lashes on the inside of my eyes, and also my bottom ones too. This is really great stuff! I have used it for all my various mascara brands and each time it has given me great eyelashes, and I feel more confident with the way my makeup looks. I tried to take some photos of my eyes to pop on here myself, but I just couldn’t do it. I will see if I can get Mark to take some for me, of me and I’ll post over on my Instagram at a later date. I purchased my Essence lash primer from Wilko in my local town, you can also get it from HERE.

The mascara I purchased to go with the lash primer is this one from Essence, Lashes of the Day Super Volume mascara. It doesn’t seem to be on the Wilko website right now so I’m not sure if it’s been discontinued or not. I tried this mascara with the primer and without, and I’m quite happy with my eyelashes without it. The brush is a great size and shape and grabs hold of all my lashes, even the tiny ones. I don’t like a mascara that’s too wet and this one isn’t, it applies brilliantly. My lashes don’t feel hard and crunchy and it doesn’t flake off during the day either. A really great mascara, in my opinion. As I said I purchased this mascara from my local Wilko store, but it doesn’t seem to be on their website so I can’t leave a link to this one.

Thank you for stopping by today.
