Trying To Get My Glow Back. 60 plus Beauty on a Budget..

Hello lovely people, Happy New Year 2023! Welcome back to my blog Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa, and I hope you are all doing okay.

My goodness, it’s rather chilly here in the UK at the moment, and I am feeling cold when I usually don’t. I tend to only pop the heating on to warm the radiators when I do get too badly cold during the day when I’m on my own, anything to save money with the cost of living crisis we (some) are facing.

I thought that for this post on my blog, I would share with you the skincare that I’m using currently, and as I’m in my early 60’s now I need products to help my skin get a bit of a glow as it can look a bit grey. I’m not bothered about wrinkles, they are a sign that I have lived and I’m lucky to be this age, it is more about skincare for giving me some glow and radiance back to my face, and at a budget affordable for me.

First up is cleansing, and I love the No7 Radiant Results Revitalising Foaming Cleanser, which unfortunately I believe is now discontinued, which is such a shame. I need to find an alternative.

Next up is the wonderful Gentle Facial Exfoliator by Cyclax. With Green Tea, Shea Butter and fine granules of Walnut shells this is a really gentle exfoliator for my dry mature skin, I use it about 3 times a week and it’s enough for me and it doesn’t dry my skin. You can purchase from Amazon UK HERE.

When I’m not using the exfoliator I will use the Lacura Healthy Glow Rose Toner. You will find Lacura products in your local Aldi supermarket. The Rose toner is so moisturising and calming with Hyaluronic acid and Aloe Vera, Rose and Elderflower, it actually smells amazing too and it’s also alcohol-free.

Now, one of the best sheet face masks I’ve used. This is the Nivea Natural Radiance 10-Minute Sheet Mask. This is the best treat for my tired-looking skin. It’s infused with Argan Oil  Shea butter, and Magnolia Bark extract. The sheet mask itself fits okay and feels soft to the touch when on the skin. I applied it and relaxed for 10 minutes and when I removed it I massaged the serum into my face. After a while, I noticed my skin looked so radiant, the best I’ve had it looking in a long time. I really do need to purchase some more of these sheet masks! By the way, they’re biodegradable too. My daughter gave me this mask for Christmas and I’m not sure where she purchased it, but you could check out Nivea’s website HERE. Oh, and yes, it came with the facial roller too.

My favourite daily moisturiser for giving me a more glowy complexion is my gorgeous Cyclax Moistura Daily moisturiser, I love this! It may be light but for my dry mature face it’s perfect and under foundation, it works perfectly for me whether I am using a matte or dewy foundation. You could pop over to Amazon UK for this HERE.

Lastly my eye cream of choice at the moment is the Boots Ingredients Caffeine Eye Cream. Caffeine is an antioxidant, so is perfect for using around the eye area, it makes the skin look, fresher more hydrated and moisturised. I tend to tap the cream into the skin gently and leave to soak in before starting any makeup. You can purchase from HERE.

Well, that’s me done for now, thank you so much for stopping by and reading today, I shall be back with more product reviews soon.

Take care,

Teresa.

Optimum PhytoEnergise Glycolic Cleansing Pads…

Hello my lovelies, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Firstly, if you have been here before, what do you think of my new blog header? I think it looks a bit more “grown up” Obviously thanks go to my other half Mark for making the change for me. So onto the business in hand and the reason why you are here (hopefully)

Regular readers will know my passion and love for Superdrug own brand products, especially B. Skincare and B. Makeup which I’ve featured quite heavily recently, the other range I have a penchant for is the Optimum skincare range. There are a few Optimum posts if you’d care to read, HERE.

Over the next few posts I shall be sharing the Optimum PhytoEnergise range, Superdrug’s latest skincare range set to rival some of the more expensive high-end skincare, but at a fraction of the price,  making great skincare more accessible to those of us on a smaller budget.

So Optimum PhytoEnergise then is a range of skincare products that is formulated using something called Early Boost, an active ingredient containing the amino acid taurine, which is said to provide the skin with a kick of energy. Optimum have given us a “purse friendly” (says Superdrug) alternative to the more high-end more expensive taurine based skincare. Early Boost is well-known for its anti-inflammation and energising properties and it’s extracted from Jania Rubens seaweed, said to help skin that has become dull and tired looking. There are three vegan friendly Optimum PhytoEnergise products in the range, Glycolic Cleansing Pads, Refreshing Eye Gel and 3 in 1 Moisture Balm, Primer and Mask. I shall be bringing all them to you, I’m starting today with the Glycolic Cleansing Pads.

I have always wanted to get my hands on a Glycolic cleansing pad, and I did actually purchase a pot of another Superdrug own brand pads a couple of weeks ago, and I shall share them with you another time. This range though is another Superdrug brand, Optimum and these are the Glycolic Cleansing Pads. They are a deep cleansing pad which will help to minimise the look of large pores and helps in the retexturising the skin’s surface, leaving it looking brighter and less grey and dull looking. I have been using these pads for over a month now. I started by using them every morning but I was literally over exfoliating my skin, I was suffering from breakouts and sore dry patches around my mouth. I stopped using them for a week then began again, but I now just use them twice a week. I mainly use them in the mornings after first cleansing my face with my usual cleanser. I then sweep a pad over my face avoiding the eye area and lips. These really have given my skin a glow, my cheeks are looking quite rosy right now! I will never get rid of my enlarged pores I don’t think, they have occurred due to ageing to be honest. But my skin is so smooth to the touch and certainly a lot more fresh looking now. These will most definitely be in my morning skincare routine now, and if you feel you would like to give them a go they are currently better than half price in Superdrug HERE. Be aware that when using the Glycolic Cleansing pads they may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Apply an SPF after use.

Thank you for stopping by today.

THEA SKINCARE AGE REVIVAL CLEANSER AND EXFOLIATOR…

Hell again lovely people!

Today I’m bringing to a close my reviews of the Thea Skincare range of anti-aging products, and I have really enjoyed using them and totally in love with everything that Thea sent me to try. Here I’m giving you my thoughts of the Antioxidant Face Cleanser and the Dream Creme Exfoliator.

This is a beautiful rich face cleanser full of natural and organic anti-aging ingredients, you don’t need to use lot of product to get a deep down cleansing, it just melts into the skin. Organic Aloe juice seals in moisture and encourages new cells to form, Organic Olive Oil provides hydration and moisturises the skin, Organic White Tea helps protect from free radicals, anti-bacterial Cedar wood Oil to purify. Juniper Berry Essential Oil to cleanse the skin and Vitamin E anti-aging vitamin to protect the skin with a natural SPF 6. You can use the cleanser on damp cotton wool and wiped over the skin or apply it straight to the skin and massage in circular motion (this is my preferred method of cleansing) and then wipe away with a muslin cloth or face cloth which is what I use. After using this face cleanser my skin didn’t feel dry or tight, it was just so clean and smooth and looked so much brighter and I also thought that my enlarged pores weren’t quite as noticeable, which made me very happy as that’s one of the things that gets me down as regards aging, it’s my enlarged pores. Antioxidant Face Cleanser from Thea Skincare is £32.95 for a 200ml pump dispenser bottle from the online store HERE

The name of this facial exfoliator is exactly what it says it is, it’s a Dream Cream! I have never used such a gentle exfoliator on my face, I love using it. Once again as with every one of Thea’s skincare products it’s full of natural and organic goodies. Organic Aloe Juice for that moisture saving and helping new skin cells to grow, Organic Coconut, Jojoba, Olive & Avocado Oils, to provide moisture and hydration, Organic Rooibos Tea an antioxidant to protect from free radicals, Roman Chamomile Essential Oil to rejuvenate mature skin and lastly Organic Jojoba Beads for the gentle exfoliation, so gentle that you can use this exfoliator every day! I use this after cleansing and it has really made a difference to the way my skin looks and feels, I was getting dry patches on my cheeks with a bit of flaking itchy skin, but upon using the exfoliator it hasn’t been occurring. It’s now 3pm and I used the cleanser, exfoliator and moisturiser at 8am and my skin is still feeling soft and smooth and not at all itchy, it just looks so much brighter too! I’ve used it twice since Thea sent me the products to try, and because it’s so gentle I’m going to mix some in with my cleanser every morning. This wonderful Dream Creme Exfoliator 50ml is £24.95 and you can find it HERE.

Wow, I have been so lucky to have been asked to review such beautiful skincare products, and I am being honest when I tell you that my skin is looking so much better. I’m loving how my eyes appear to be wider from using the amazing eye cream, my lines are less noticeable, and my skin is looking brighter, softer and pores less noticeable. I’m a very happy beauty blogger today!

Thank you for reading lovelies!
