The Skincare Products I’m using at 63 Years Old, Cleansers.

Hey there lovely people, Welcome to my blog Elegant Ageless Beauty. It’s been a while since my last post so I thought that I would start back with a basic one, one that starts at the beginning “a very good place to start” like the song says. So let us start with Cleansing.

wp-1696248765986

I have three cleansers on the go right now, I do like a pick-and-mix haha, and I have only just started to use the oil cleanser from Simple and wow it is rather wonderful!

The Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil really is hydrating, it is perfect for my mature dry skin. It removes my makeup, including mascara beautifully. I massage the oil all across my skin, including my eyes, and then I use a wet muslin cloth or face cloth to remove it. Afterwards, my skin doesn’t feel dry and tight. It just feels lovely and clean, and soft too, with no oily film left behind. There is no perfume, colour or dyes within this cleansing oil, it contains 100% Grapeseed oil, as well as vitamins A and E. Dermatologically tested and approved. Ophthalmologically tested. Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic.  The bottle is made from recycled plastic, which is why it looks greyish in colour. The Hydrating Cleansing Oil is PETA-certified cruelty-free and vegan, and most certainly does not test on animals,  and this is globally I might add. Quite simply, kind to skin, kind to animals and kind to our beautiful planet. I purchased it from Superdrug HERE. You can also get it at Boots HERE

Next up is one of my favourite products that I purchase regularly. This is a Superdrug own-brand product, it’s the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser. So thick and creamy and quite delicious. Cocoa butter with lots of Vitamin A, B and E in the ingredients. You just simply massage over the face for a couple of minutes then remove with the muslin cloth that comes with the cream cleanser. I love how this gives my face a micro-exfoliation as I remove it, and my skin feels soft and hydrated afterwards and looks glowing. I can get a deep cleanse with it too, removing all makeup. I don’t tend to take it over my eyes though, I would prefer to use a separate eye makeup remover. get the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser from Superdrug on your local High Street or online HERE.

My third cleanser is one by Garnier. from the Skin Active range, it’s the Rose Soothing Cleansing Milk, enriched with rose water and suitable for sensitive and dry skin. It’s called “milk” but it’s thicker, more like a lotion to me. It’s enriched with Damask rose flower water, and there are no parabens. No silicones. No artificial colourants in this cleansing milk. Rose water is known for its soothing properties, so it’s been very gentle on my skin. I use this as I do all my cleansers, I massage over the face then remove it with a wet face cloth/muslin cloth and remove it that way. My skin afterwards feels very clean and fresh, and really very soft. Afterwards, I finish off with my toner, which will be featured in my next post. I purchased the Garnier Rose Soothing Cleansing Milk from Superdrug HERE.

That’s it from me for now, I hope you will come back soon to see my thoughts on which toners I use in my skincare routine for a 63-year-old.

Boots Glow Range.

Hello, my lovelies, I hope you are all safe and well, welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I have been having a love affair with Boots own-brand products for quite a while now, including all things No7 too! I came across the Boots Glow range and of course, I just had to give it a go. I’ve got three products to share with you today.

I have the Boots Glow Cleansing Oil, Glow Brightening Mist, and the Gel Mask too. I especially love the pretty pink and white packaging with the branding in gold. Let me tell you my thoughts on the Cleansing Oil first.

At just £4.00 this is so lovely to use. Containing Olive fruit oil and Sunflower oil to help to cleanse the skin deep into the pores. It’s a pump-type delivery system and it does say to apply the cleansing oil to the skin with a cotton pad and sweep it over the face. I didn’t do that,  I added a couple of pumps of the oil to my hands and massage over my face, and then remove with a wet flannel or muslin cloth. I’ve been cleansing my face with all kinds of cleansers this way for years, and I won’t change now. I have loved how my skin feels after using this cleansing oil, so soft and clean and looks very glowing too. Some cheaper cleansing oils can leave a greasy film on the skin after removal, but this one didn’t do that, my face just feels clean afterward. I haven’t used it for makeup removal, I use it after I have taken off my makeup. I must say it does smell rather delicious too!

Next up is the beautifully cooling and hydrating Glow Brightening Mist. This contains Niacinamide which helps with the appearance of the skin and to help moisturise the skin too. I usually use it in my morning routine spritzed straight onto the skin after the cleansing oil. When I used it for the first time it was a bit of a shock to my system the spray was rather fierce, but do you know what I loved that! After I spray it onto my skin I press the product into my face, after it’s dried down I do have a lovely glowy face, ready for my day cream. I don’t have a moisturiser from this range right now, I shall be ordering one asap and I’ll get back to you.

Now lastly but not least-ly (lol) the Glow Gel Mask. Again containing Niacinamide, but also containing glycerin too, this gel mask is very moisturising and hydrating. So cooling when first applied too, really delicious. I applied it thickly to my skin after cleansing, sat in the bath for a half-hour or so, then removed it with a muslin cloth/flannel, it leaves my skin so soft, and hydrated and yes indeed very glowy too!

The Glow range of products at Boots is so inexpensive, between £4 and £5 is all that I’ve seen. I definitely want to add to my stash. If you would like to check out the range you can find it HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading today, stay safe. Sending lots of love.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil… *PR Gifted for review*

So I’m a bit late to the party when it comes to using this brand that is well-known among many a beauty blogger. This is Japanese brand DHC, who specialise in skincare using Virgin Olive Oil, one of the best ingredients for the upkeep of healthy young-looking skin, and this is the Deep Cleansing Oil where FYI, 1 is sold every 10 seconds worldwide, and that’s a fact!

The packaging is clean and simple looking, it’s a pump dispensing method while the bottle is plastic, great for me being so clumsy at the moment, it’s not going to break if I drop it, hey! The main ingredients are Olive Oil and there is also some Rosemary Oil in there too, it’s so rich in vitamins and antioxidants to help keep the skin looking and feeling nourished and hydrated after cleansing. It’s said it can tackle even the most waterproof of makeup, even waterproof mascara. So yay to that, I can use waterproof mascara, at last. (I need to curl my eyelashes you see, and a waterproof mascara will hold a curled lash the best) I just need to purchase one now. So how did I get on with this beautifully rich amber looking cleanser? Read on.

I used just one pump worth in  my hand, it’s not a thin runny oil so it didn’t run out of my fingers. I put my hands together to transfer some oil to my other hand too. I continued to massage the oil over my face and gently over my eyes. While I was massaging my face I noticed the fragrance, while not horrible or unpleasant it does smell like a rich oil, and I like it! I think I massaged my face and around my eyes for a couple of minutes I was thoroughly enjoying the cleansing oil experience. The DHC Deep Cleansing Oil is water-soluble, so I added a bit of water to my hands and massaged over my face where the oil turned a milky white. You can if you wish just completely rinse off the oil cleanser plus makeup and grime with water alone, but I do prefer to use a wet face flannel or muslin cloth to rinse off all types of cleanser, so I treated this exactly the same. Afterwards? Wow, I love how my face felt, it was clean, refreshed, smooth and not at all dry and tight, there was no trace of mascara left on my lashes, all eyeshadow was gone, primer, foundation and concealer all gone, absolutely amazing cleansing. I guess also, when used regularly the olive oil will nourish my eyelashes too, and for me that can be a good thing as it’s one of a number of things that is depressing me with the ageing process, that my eye lashes have become sparse.

Thank you for stopping by today.

The first product I picked was something I’ve wanted to try for a while, and that’s the Superdrug own brand of Vitamin E Cleansing Oil. I’ll use it for a wee while and get back to you with my thoughts. It’s just £2.99 for 150 ml HERE To go with the cleansing oil I picked up the Vitamin E Toning Mist, again I’ll get back to you with my thoughts soon. The Toning Mist is also £2.99 HERE

The next 3 items are the ones I picked out of the sale section on the superdrug website. Theres two Dove Purely Pampering body washes with my favourite Shea Butter. They aren’t in the sale now, but the Dove Purely Pampering Hand Cream with Shea Butter is in the sale at just 40p for goodness sake! HERE

Lastly, I picked one of the newest eyeshadow palettes from MUA Makeup Academy, it’s from their Luxe range of cosmetics and I can tell you right now that I’m very excited by this little palette. After dipping my fingers and a brush into it all I shall tell you is that it is just A MAZE ING!! There are two new palettes just launched, I have Utopia and the other is Paradise, both are £8.00 HERE (Superdrug appear to have made a boob in their descriptions, calling both palettes Paradise)

So that’s my little Superdrug online beauty booty. I’ll be back soon with some reviews for you, thank you for stopping by today.
