All About The Base. No7 Airbrush Away Primer and Foundation.

Hey there my lovelies! Welcome to my blog, this is Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

So I have been sharing my love of No7 skincare here on EAB, I thought that I’d share with you two more face products. This is the No7 Airbrush Away Primer and the Foundation.

I actually stopped wearing a primer underneath my foundation because by the end of the day I would have a breakout of spots on my cheek and sometimes my chin. This was down to, I think, that the primer was too heavy/thick for my skin. So I was pretty happy to get this No7 Airbrush Away primer in one of my Boots and No7 beauty boxes, I had already purchased the foundation previously. The primer is Hypo-allergenic and contains Hyaluronic acid spheres to give the skin that soft, blurred appearance to pores and fine lines. It also evens out the skin tone. the primer is white and creamy in appearance and feels so light when it’s applied, not thick and oily like other primers have felt before on my skin. This makes my skin look and feel smooth and almost fresh looking. Although I am showing this primer with its “bestie” I have used it with other foundations and it has worked perfectly with all of them. They all lasted for as long as I was wearing my makeup until I removed it later that day/evening, and not one spot/zit/breakout/blocked pores. This Airbrush Away primer by No7 has just become my new “hero” makeup product, something that will be on repeat order from Boots, for sure. You can find it HERE.

The Airbrush Away primer does have a “best friend” in the Airbrush Away Foundation. This really is rather gorgeous! It’s one of those foundations that gives you that perfect natural-looking skin, made up but not made to look made-up type of thing. It’s dispensed via a pipette-type delivery system. The product does need to be given a good shake before use. It’s very liquid and doesn’t sit on the back of the hand, I pop it onto my foundation brush then apply it to my face. I have found that it does apply better with a brush rather than a sponge, but as always, it’s just personal preference. I do love how my skin looks after applying this foundation, so smooth and healthy-looking. I did think it would be a matte coverage, but it’s just so light your own skin comes through. It’s buildable to the coverage you do want for yourself. Yes, I’m definitely a big fan. It looks like this Airbrush Away foundation is out of stock at the moment, but you can find many other beauties HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today, I’ll come back soon with some more of the similar.

Take care, stay safe…

MUA Makeup Academy Pro/Base Primer Oil with Gold Flakes…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa

I had been umming and ahhing about getting this product, which is by MUA Makeup Academy, one of my favourite makeup brands. I went to Superdrug a few weeks ago and decided to give it a go. This is the MUA Pro/Base Primer Oil with God Flakes.

From the moment I tried a little of this product on the back of my hand, I knew that it was definitely for me. Firstly can I just say if you have a really oily skin type I don’t think that this will be for you? Also if you like your foundation on the matte side then this product maybe not for you too. I have recently got into a dewier type of foundation for myself as I feel it is better for me now at my age. In my opinion, this lovely oil primer with the gold flakes is absolutely a must for anyone who is about my age (59) with dry skin and who loves makeup. I applied this over my light gel moisturiser at the start of my makeup application. It’s a lovely glass bottle with a pipette applicator that I did drop straight onto my skin with, rather than add the product to my hand then apply. I mainly concentrated on my cheeks hoping that the primer would blur out my enlarged pores somewhat. It didn’t, but the glow it gives my skin I love so I don’t mind the pores at all. It’s not a really oily oil and it certainly doesn’t smell like an oil either it’s really quite a pleasant smell to it. I then applied a matte foundation by another brand over the oil primer using my usual foundation brush (I chose a matte foundation to see how it worked with the oil primer) I did find that I wasn’t using as much foundation as normal, and yes the glow of the primer came through alright, it’s really quite attractive too. I love this! And no, there are no flecks of gold stuck to my face making it all glittery. My skin looks dewy, not oily and it certainly doesn’t feel oily either.

I have found my perfect primer in this and it’s a bargain at just £4.00 too! You can get it from the MUA website HERE and also from Superdrug on your local High Street, or online HERE

Thank you for stopping by today.

Bio Essence 24K Gold Miracle Finisher

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

There’s a bright golden skincare range on the shelves in Superdrug right now, and I’ve been sent a product from Bio – Essence, which contains 24k GOLD! This is the 24k Gold Miracle Finisher.

The packaging itself is just a beauty to behold, all golden and bright! The product is delivered by a pump-action so that you can get the correct amount needed for your application. If you don’t like silicon-y feels on your skin, then this isn’t for you. But I don’t dislike that feeling so I have carried on using the Miracle Finisher.

It’s exactly what it says on the bottle it’s a “finisher” for your skin, the final step in your skincare routine before you apply your makeup. It’s enriched with 24K Bio-Gold, Bio Mineral Amino Acid and Bio Energy Fluid for a healthy glow, and protection for your skin from harmful pollutants. It’s a lovely base for makeup as it minimises the look of my large pores and seems to  mattify the skin making it feel soft and smooth, but due to the 24k gold it still gives my skin a slight glowy appearance. I’m not a huge fan of a glittery face, I like a matte finish, then add some glow later, so this has the right amount of glow for me. My lines and wrinkles did have a slight smoothed out appearance but not greatly. The only thing that I do have to find out though, is about applying SPF, do I apply it underneath the Finisher, if so is it going to inhibit the protection of my SPF? I’ll find out and get back to you.

I am enjoying using the Bio- Essence Miracle Finisher, which is available at Superdrug on the High Street or online HERE. I’d like to try a cleanser, toner and a moisturiser in a couple of weeks when I’m able to shop again, at the moment I’m on a “no buy” for a while.

Thank you for stopping by today..

MUA Makeup Academy Skin Define Hydro Primer

Hello again my loves, Welcome back to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

I’m back today with my thoughts on another new product by MUA Makeup Academy, it’s from the Skin Define Hydro range which is new for Autumn/Winter.

IMG_8233

Meet the Skin Define Hydro Primer. I’ve got 3 primers in my makeup collection already from various brands, so did I really need this one? Well yes I did and I’m so glad I bought it. The jar is plastic, but looks like glass and I do like the peach and white labelling, although it does look rather like a clinical product instead of a cosmetic product, but don’t let the looks deceive you.

When I first poked my finger into this jar, the product felt like a “nearly set jelly” it actually wobbles like a jelly when you bounce your finger on it! I proceeded to scoop out the product to apply it to my face and it feels cool to the touch, it was still looking jelly like on my finger and I was a bit concerned that this wouldn’t smooth over my skin. But, oh my word I’ve never used a primer like it! As I was applying the jelly to my face it turned into a very light and cooling serum like consistency and smoothed over perfectly. It also smells good too, a fresh aloe fragrance. It didn’t form into little “balls” like some primers do and it doesn’t have that silicon feel to it either, it certainly made my skin feel as though it’s able to breathe rather than feeling clogged. Once it had dried, my skin looked smooth and ready for foundation. I didn’t see much of a difference in the size of my pores, but I think that’s got more to do with the ageing process rather than this lovely product, saying that I have a small line above my lips that was less noticeable. I applied my Skin Define Hydro Foundation over the top of the primer, and they marry together really well. This time I applied it with my fingers to see if the primer made any difference to the application of the foundation. (If you read my Hydro Foundation post HERE you will know that it didn’t apply too well for me using my fingers) But it went on much better, without any streaks and I could move it across my skin easier too. This really is a lovely under makeup primer and it’s just £5.00 from the MUA Makeup Academy website  (Product is no longer available)

Thank you for reading today. I hope you will come back soon for more “new stuff” from MUA.

Superdrug Booty….

Hello and welcome back to Elegant Ageless Beauty.

So, we popped into a town near us on Friday to pick up some of the new MUA Makeup Academy Autumn/Winter range from Superdrug, I’d already seen on their own website what I wanted to try but unfortunately not everything I was after was in stock so I had to order my other products online. Mark actually bought these for me, here’s what I got.

One of my favourite ranges from Superdrug own brand is the Natural Radiance collection of skincare, I’ve used their Day Cream, Night Cream and Eye Cream and always wanted to try their own Hot Cloth Cleanser so I picked one up. At the moment selected products from the  Natural Radiance range is HALF PRICE, my cleanser was reduced to just £2.95 HERE

I also picked up a Charlie Bodyspray in the fragrance Edge. It’s fruity, it’s floral, it’s slightly musk too and it’s just £1.00 on selected Charlie Bodysprays HERE

I love Superdrug oval cotton wool pads, they’re huge! There’s 50 in a pack for £1.89, although there is also an offer to buy 2 packs for £2.50 HERE

Then on to MUA Makeup Academy. One of their new releases a few weeks ago was the multi formula palettes, and I picked up Amour. It holds 10 powder eyeshadows and 2 cream metallic shades and it’s just £5.00 HERE or on the MUA website HERE

Also from MUA Makeup Academy, and from their new Autumn/Winter collection I got myself Skin Define Hydro Foundation in the shade Beige. It’s just £4.00 at Superdrug HERE and MUA website HERE.

Lastly from MUA is the Skin Define Hydro Primer, I’m really looking forward to trying these new face products! The primer is just £5.00 at Superdrug HERE and from MUA website HERE too.

So that’s my little beauty booty from Superdrug! I’ll be back with reviews after I’ve used them all a few times, especially the cleanser so I hope you will look out for that. Thank you for reading today.
