Pureplex Bond Reconstructing Shampoo and Conditioner…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

I bet I have the best conditioned hair in my town! Well maybe. Although I could have, because it is cleansed and conditioned with the help of Knight And Wilson, the hair care people that has become my new favourite. I recently coloured my hair Rose Gold with the Knight and Wilson Colour Freedom Metallic Glory Rose Gold hair dye. You can read my review HERE. I had a conditioning treatment after that using the Pureplex Hair Repair System and you can see my review HERE. Now to keep my hair in this tip-top condition I’m using the Pureplex Bond Reconstructing Shampoo and the Conditioner.

Let me tell you about the shampoo. This shampoo has been especially designed to be used daily (if you are a daily washer of hair) specifically for coloured, bleached, highlighted, any chemical treatment in fact AND for hair that is ageing, hair that is easily broken. It’s formulated with the Aminofix Bond Reconstructor and although its sulphate free it gently cleanses the hair and also helps to repair any damage caused by heated appliances and chemicals. The shampoo helps to build the hair’s structure and also it protects it from any harm you will do to the hair in the future. I for one will not stop colouring my hair! As for ingredients it has Shea Butter, Argan Oil and Panthenol (which is a form of vitamin B5) The Pureplex shampoo also contains UV filters.

The first thing I noticed when I squeezed this rich creamy shampoo into my hand is the fragrance, its gorgeous and fresh and “apple-y” I used a good-sized amount of product for my first shampoo because my hair is so thick. Thankfully it’s not too lathery,  I don’t have a shower so I have to wash my hair over the bath every time with a jug. The first shampoo rinsed out really easily and I could feel the squeak from my hair. I did a second shampoo using less of the product and paid more attention to massaging my scalp, this time there was a bit more lather although it rinsed away very clearly. I then combed my hair through with a wide toothed comb ready for the Pureplex Conditioner and it was already easy to comb when wet.

The conditioner too is so creamy and rich in consistency and like the shampoo has the fresh and apple scent. I used about a dessert spoonful of product in my hand and worked it through my hair, not reaching my scalp though. I let the conditioner work into my hair for a couple of minutes then rinsed out thoroughly. It was easy to rinse out when using my old jug method, I didn’t feel as though there was any residue left on my hair. I then wrapped my hair in a towel and left it to soak up the excess water rather than rub my hair as I usually do. Running a brush through my hair when its wet is so easy after using this glorious conditioner, didn’t struggle with any knots at all. I more often than not leave my hair to dry naturally but if I do use my  hairdryer it dries fantastically with no flyaway bits of hair. I always dry my hair using the nozzle downwards so as not to “ruffle” up the shaft of the hair, this will help with keeping the hair smoother looking.

After being introduced to all the ranges of hair products by Knight and Wilson I shall be purchasing more from the brand I really am enjoying everything that I’ve tried so far. If you would like to try them for yourself you can find them in your local Superdrug store or online HERE.

Rose Gold Hair? Yeah!

Hey there lovelies!

I was contacted by the PR company for Knight and Wilson, those wonderful hair care people asking me if I fancied a Metallic Rose Gold hair colour. I ummed and ahhh’d for about 5 minutes and decided that I did need a change to my hair colour, after being blonde for over 50 years of my life! Here’s what turned my hair Rose Gold….

This is from Knight and Wilson’s Colour Freedom, Metallic Glory range of  semi- permanent and permanent hair dyes which are available at Superdrug, either on the High Street or online. It’s a huge range of gorgeous hair colours which actually take care of your hair during the colouring process.

Okay, so with the Rose Gold permanent hair colour that I’ve used, it’s recommended that it’s put onto pre – lightened bleached white hair. Colour Freedom do have a creme bleach in their range, I’ll leave a link at the end of my post. The Metallic Glory range of colours are “deposit only” colours which means they cannot lighten existing hair colour. It’s a unique professional formula which contains Shea Butter and Argan Oil to  protect and nourish also hydrate the hair during colouring.

There are two ways in which to use the hair colour. You can mix the contents in a plastic dish and apply using a brush, or simply mix the colourant tube into the bottle of developer and apply to the hair straight from said bottle. Which is what I did. Or rather what Mark did, yup Mark colours my hair for me every time. It’s so easy to use right from the bottle too. Once the whole of my hair is covered I left it for about 40 minutes then rinsed it off thoroughly until the water ran clear, I then used the sachet of conditioner which smells of apples actually, I left that on my hair for a few minutes before rinsing out, then dried my hair as normal. Because the colourant has the Shea Butter and Argan oil in it my hair dried so soft and silky, and it had an actual shine to it too. The Rose Gold colour is amazing, on me. I was born a blondie with green eyes, and as I got older my hair did become a darker blonde. When my hair started to go grey I just simply used blonde hair colours and had blonde highlights. All these years I’ve been wrong, blonde is too cool for me I have a warmer skin tone  and the Rose Gold is perfect for me. I actually love it!

These two photos don’t actually show the full vibrancy of the Rose Gold, in real life it’s much more pink/gold. My hairdresser mentioned to me while she was cutting it last Saturday that there are many shades of pink and gold in my hair she actually asked me if I had a Rose Gold colour on it. She’s a new hairdresser, never met me before! I think that this Metallic Glory Rose Gold hair colour by Knight and Wilson is a big YES from me, and I will be using again. You never know with so many beautiful colours to choose from I might end up with something completely different!

Right now at Superdrug you can save a 1/3 on selected Colour Freedom HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today…

Big Hair Don’t Care. Styling My Hair with Style Freedom..

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa..

Now that all the awful snow has gone from my part of the UK, and the sun is shining although it’s still very cold, I’m getting into Spring mode, and you will start to see that on my blog. Today I thought that I’d begin with sharing with you some hair styling products. I’ve just been washing my hair and then leaving it to dry naturally during the winter. But now with Springtime almost upon us I feel like I want to make more of an effort with my hair.

I’m a fan of big hair, and I really don’t care! I’ve always hated the sleek and straight hairstyle on myself, I have always preferred lots of root lift and scrunching and drying my hair upside down, and thanks to these products by Knight & Wilson I can get my big hair with not much effort.

These three awesome products are from the Knight & Wilson Style Freedom range of products, available at Superdrug. There is also the Colour Freedom range and also the PurePlex range, and I shall be bringing you a product from each of those ranges too, so keep a lookout for them coming soon. Firstly let me share with you the absolutely fabulous Style Freedom Super Root Volumiser. This is a mousse, and I’ve not used mousse in my hair for ages because I found it made my hair feel sticky and dull looking. This mousse however is gorgeous! After washing and towel drying my hair and a comb through to de-tangle I lifted sections of my hair where I need most root lift and sprayed directly from the can onto my hair. It has a thin nozzle and is so easy to direct the product where you need too. I want more volume on my crown and so that’s where I applied most of the product. I combed my hair through again to distribute the mousse, which actually smells gorgeous by the way, then “activated” the root volumiser by using my hairdryer, lifting my hair as it dried with my brush, and I dried my hair upside down too. This Super Root Volumiser is SUPER! It’s giving super volume that I love and where my hair on the crown of my head was so flat, it’s now more voluminous and lifted.

This next hair styling product is Sexy Hair Potion by Style Freedom. It’s a “big volume creation spray” and I have been using it as a blow drying spray, drying my hair thoroughly and then using my tongs or my Yogi styling brush to put in some curls and waves. Sexy Hair Potion can also be used as a setting spray for rollers and then left to dry. I’ve used styling sprays similar to this one before but they have left my hair so dry and crispy, and after a couple of days my roots are quite oily. When I first sprayed this onto my hair I noticed the gorgeous citrus fragrance of it, just lovely! As I’m drying my hair I notice the fragrance too. I also notice that my hair seemed to be drying quicker? It’s a great help for when I use my tongs or my heated brush to add curl to my hair. It’s helped my hair curl better and because my hair is so thick and heavy, Sexy Hair Potion helped me keep my style for longer without it dropping out, even after it got snowed on! And no oily roots either…

Lastly to keep all the hair in place for longer I used the Style Capture from Style Freedom. This style setting spray is fab u lous! It’s an extreme hold hair spray that’s fast drying. Once you style your hair simply hold the can at arm’s length and spray over the hair. I can usually go a bit cray cray with hair spray, but you really do not need a lot of this one. If you do find you want more hold, just spray your hair again. My hair didn’t feel like I was wearing a helmet when using this hair spray, but it still kept my hair looking good and kept all the fly-away under control. At the end of the day it brushed out so easily too. One of the ways I like to use a hairspray, especially first thing in the morning is to spritz my hairbrush with the hairspray and then brush through my hair, it helps to tame any fly aways and neatens everything.

The fabulous Style Freedom hair products by Knight and Wilson are going to be regular additions to my Superdrug shopping basket, have a look for yourself HERE.

I have a hair colour to use from Knight and Wilson it’s from the Colour Freedom range. I’ve got the shade Metallic Glory, Rose Gold. I won’t lie I’m rather nervous at doing it, but I believe we should all do something that’s out of our comfort zone, eh? I hope you will come back to see the results.

Lots of love, Teresa
