‘Tis The Season For Weddings… Gorgeous Summer Makeup With B.

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa..

Be a blushing bride this Summer with a beautiful and natural makeup, the trend that Meghan Markle chose to wear for her wedding to Prince Harry just a few weeks ago. I think we all tend to go for much less makeup during the heat of Summer, even if we aren’t a bride or going to a wedding. Summer is the time to let the skin glow, keeping the base really light without too much heavy contouring, or even just no contour at all. That’s just my opinion, I rarely contour to be honest with you.

I do love my skin to look radiant though, and with the help of these pretties from B. Makeup which are available on the High Street at Superdrug, or online at Superdrug, it’s easy to glow! The first such product to help give a pretty luminosity to the skin would be a lightweight silk foundation and I have used the B. Makeup Flawless Silk Foundation I have a review HERE. Next I would add a bit of a highlighter, I like one that will give me pretty glow but without being shiny and glittery. The ideal one for me is the Radiance Powder.

I love this one, it’s actually multi – purpose  with the 5 different shades within that can be used separately to blush and highlight or even use them as eyeshadows! I did however just use my brush through all of the colours and applied it to top of the cheekbones. It really does give me a pretty glow when the light catches. It’s lightweight and you can build it up to get an even brighter glow. The shade I have is Peachy, it’s a more natural finish for me, it also comes in a more bronze shade, Bronzed too. Find the one you prefer HERE.

Next a pretty flush of colour on the cheeks and B. Makeup powder blushers are gorgeous for just that. This shade is “I Like To Mauve It” and it’s quite a delicate shade perfect for Summer. This blusher is so soft and delicate it does literally glide onto the skin without any effort, it blends out beautifully and it can be built up to the intensity you like, and you don’t need a lot of product on your brush either, a little goes a long way. I have already reviewed the blusher if you would like to see that, HERE.  Find a blusher in your shade  HERE.

Lips during the Summer can look dry and cracked due to dehydration, so drink that water and pamper the lips with a lip scrub and use a lip balm or lip oil to keep them soft. If you are attending a wedding, or are the leading lady, you will need your lip colour to last. The B. Makeup Lip Liner is perfect for that, it’s matte and it’s non drying. Use it to outline the lips before applying your lipstick, I tend to slightly over draw my lips to give them a fuller appearance. (One of these days I will say sod it and put my makeup photos on my blog!) Using the lip liner, as an older lady my lipstick doesn’t bleed into any lines. I always smudge my lip liner with a lip brush to give a softer edge, the B. Makeup Lip Liner does blend nicely. This shade is called “Rosy” and there are 6 shades to choose from. Find your shade HERE.

The B. Makeup Velvet Matte Lipstick in the shade “Frow” is a gorgeous “your lips but better shade”. I wasn’t a big fan of matte lipsticks but this is a different matte lipstick from others that I’ve used. This contains Shea Butter and rather than being drying on the lips it’s hydrating instead. It does glide on the lips beautifully and the pigment is amazing. Once it’s on the lips rather than looking totally matte it does seem to have a creamy looking sheen to it, and it doesn’t appear to make my thinning lips look any thinner either. It’s also really comfortable to wear, it doesn’t feel as though it’s “cracking” on my lips, some matte lipsticks just feel that way on me. One thing I do like about matte lipstick is the longevity of wear, and this lasts all day. It leaves a really pretty stain on my lips like I had been eating red berries, and I found it’s best removed with an oil based makeup remover. I think that this really is the perfect lipstick for a Summer makeup/wedding, it would probably last all day, maybe not melt off in the heat of a sunny day! You can find the one for you HERE.

Add a bit of glorious sheen to the corners of the inner eye, add a touch of glimmer to the top lip on the cupids bow to add pout, you can even pop some to the middle of your lips to make them look fuller too. The B. Makeup Pigment and this is the shade Steel is so versatile. I have used it on my eyelids, not above the crease as it’s too shimmery for me, it’s lovely to blend for a pretty wash of shimmery colour, either on it’s own or over the top of another colour. Quite simply a multi tasker in your makeup bag, use it anywhere you want to add shimmer. It has a shaker delivery system to simply shake a touch of product into the lid to use. There are 8 gorgeous shades to choose from, so perfect for that Summer glistening. Find the shade you like HERE.

I hope you all have a fabulous Summer!

Getting Lippy with B. Makeup…

Hey lovelies, you are very welcome here.

This lipstick that I’m sharing with you today literally is my favourite lip colour that I’ve used in a long time. It’s a nude shade, one of those “your lips but better” kind of nude from B. Makeup a Superdrug own brand of cosmetics. This is a Luminous Silk Lipstick in the shade Suis Moi.

This is an absolute glorious lipstick! It’s really pigmented and glides on the lips beautifully. It’s not a sticky cloying lipstick, and my lips don’t feel suffocated by it. It has such a pretty sheen and it’s keeping my lips hydrated due to the Jojoba seed oil within. The longevity of wear isn’t too bad, I’m a lip licker so lipstick never lasts very long on me anyway, but I wore this one last Friday for my birthday on a shopping trip to Superdrug actually, I went in to get a B. Makeup foundation but they didn’t have my colour match in stock unfortunately. Anyhoo, I was out for just a couple of hours and my lipstick lasted fine in that time, even with eating a rice cake on the way home. During the rest of the day as the lipstick was wearing off, my lips didn’t feel dry at all. It did transfer to my coffee cup right after applying I must say. But really things like that just do not bother me, and it doesn’t bleed into my lip lines.

There are 8 gorgeous shades to choose from and I’m certainly going to get myself a couple more for sure. In fact right now in Superdrug there is a Buy 1 get 2nd for half price on selected B. Makeup and Skincare HERE.

Thank you for reading today.

B. Makeup…..Velvet Matte Lipstick

Welcome my lovelies, I’m Teresa.

Just lately I have been using many products from B. Skincare and I love them, now I’ve been introduced to B. Makeup. Both ranges are Superdrug own brands and are available online and on your High Street. I thought that I’d start by sharing with you a pretty red lipstick. This is a very gorgeous Velvet Matte Lipstick in the shade “Risky Business” it comes from a range of 12 glorious shades.

A matte lip is all the rage right now, personally I’m not a fan. I’m 58 this week and for me I think matte lipstick is quite ageing. I think that if you have thinning lips as one ages, matte lipstick can make them look thinner. However this Velvet Matte formula from B. Makeup is a different matte lipstick from others that I’ve used. One thing I do like about matte lipstick is the longevity of wear, and this lasted me all day. It left a really pretty stain on my lips like I had been eating red berries. Quite pretty really.

The shade that I have here is “Risky Business” it’s an orange-y red shade perfect for Summer and completely out of my comfort zone, but hey I’m wearing it and loving it! Check out this and the other shades and more from B. Makeup HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.

A Small Essence Haul from Wilko…

Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Mark and I just had to get into the car and get out for a while on Sunday, after we had a really rubbish week. I wanted to purchase a few Essence cosmetics goodies from Wilko online but because the rubbish week was down to a bit of online fraud on Mark’s bank account we decided to go to our nearest Wilko store instead, safer that way.

I did write myself a list of Essence products I wanted but only managed to get a few from said list, our local store didn’t have everything in, but what I did buy I was happy with. I’ll be writing reviews on EAB soon.

I’m really looking forward to trying the Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Foundation & Concealer, will I still need my concealer? We’ll see, and I will get back to you, soon  It was only £3.80. I’ve always wanted to try a lip oil, and when I saw this one by Essence I thought that I’d give it a go. I’ve no idea what a lip oil is for, does it colour, does it condition, does it hydrate? I’ll get back to you on that. The lip oil was just £2.00. I have wanted to try an Essence mascara for ages, especially one that claims to give “extreme volume and curl” my eyelashes or rather the state of them is really depressing me. I’d give my right arm to be able to go and get eyelash extensions done but until my numbers come up in the Lotto I shall keep on looking for my holy grail mascara. Could this be the one? I’ll let you know. The Essence False Lashes mascara is £2.80. I hate my lips as much as I do my eyelashes! If I could afford lip fillers I wouldn’t hesitate in getting them done! So until I do get that big Lotto cheque it’s lip plumping products for me! I picked up the Essence Volume On! lip plumping lipgloss, it’s a pretty nude peach shade, so I’ll give it a go and get back to you with my thoughts. The Essence Volume On! lip plumping lipgloss is £2.30 and finally I picked up a Nail Caring Oil it contains Apricot oil so I’m looking forward to trying that too. I’m in the middle of trialing some nail products at the moment, so I’ll let you know what the Essence product is like, soon. The Essence Nail Caring Oil is just £2.00.

I purchased my Essence products from my local Wilko stores but you can purchase online from Wilko too, HERE or from the Essence website HERE

Thank you for reading, I’ll be back soon with my thoughts on my Essence purchases.

Crowd Colour Matte Liquid Lip…

Hello, Welcome to Elegant Ageless Beauty, I’m Teresa.

Ok so Crowd Colour are a brand that gives! Not only great quality make up but everything you buy from them they give 10% back to your local schools and community! Click the link HERE. To learn more.

Gareth from Crowd Colour very kindly sent me three of their Matte Liquid Lip colours, this one is RUBY.

This next shade is another red with more pink undertones, this is CHLOE.

But my favourite shade and the one that I wear most of is a coral/nude shade called IZZY.

I do like the way the liquid lipsticks apply, they have a doe foot applicator and they go on to the lips so smoothly, the three shades are very highly pigmented and they dry to a silky matte finish. When I tried the RUBY lip colour I wasn’t sure I would like any of them, I’ve always been wary of matte lip products, due to my ageing thinning lips! On first applying I noticed how flakey my lips were! So I removed the colour and used a lip scrub to get rid of the dryness. That’s better, the dark red lip colour looked a whole lot better. It dried down in about 5 minutes, and I did notice that my lips felt slightly dry and tight, but I guess that’s just the nature of a lot of matte lip products, they aren’t very moisturising, are they?

I applied my matte lip colour after breakfast, and the colour was still on at lunchtime. I drink a lot of coffee and water throughout the day AND I’m a lip licker and the colour stayed on my lips without me needing to re-apply. It did however start to break down and disappear after I had eaten a salad sandwich with mayonnaise. I decided to remove the rest of the lip colour, and I used a normal micellar water which took it off completely, so there’s no need to scrub it off your lips, it will come off in a normal skin care routine.

There are 6 pretty shades available, check them out HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.
